I am in the process of putting a big meet together in a huge venue for the spring. Anybody interested in a gathering in the tri-state area (NJ/NY/CT) and surrounding areas as well, please PM me, so I can get a list going and start to pursue a proper-size venue.

I'm definetly down to join in, but I really want to form a massive one. I have a few really huge venues that I can access, as well as a couple sponsors that may be interested to fund this meet. Plan is to create a semi-annual meet that people anticipate like crazy.

Have you ever heard of Waterfest for VW's? Why don't we have ourselves one of those? I am willing to do all the work, and gather all the capital. it won't be easy, but I no there is massive support out there from the MB heads out there.

Thanks for the links buddy. I'm down to get in on these. Guess I was a little uneducated on the NJ scene. I'm going to keep a look out for the next meet, and hopefully I'll catch you there.

There are also a couple of more informal NJ meets a year at Roosevelt Park, in Edison behind Menlo Park Mall, when the weather's better. Not very high-end; bbq, meet, gawk, get overrun by BMWs if it's a joint meet, and get snookered on whatever liquor rbrenton brings.

First meet should be April - May-ish. A new thread will be started once it starts to get nicer.

MBPro - good luck, but I can't imagine ever having enough interest locally for anything to rival Waterfest.

tommy, nothing will ever be able to rival Waterfest lol. i give those guys all the respect in the world for what they pulled off, but my vision is to get a show to combine all the smaller shows and gatherings out there. AMG weekend is big, but the name says it all... AMG, somebody like me who choose to stay with a simple 500, may feel akward, but you get the few to show up. plus, if you go to all the smaller meets throughout PA, CT, NY, and DE, sometimes you DONT see the same people, unlike a lot of other car communities. for the smaller car clubs that we havent heard of, they will be heard. for the next generation mb enthusiasts, they will be amazed when they see a hot 140 instead of a 220, and for those that have negative comments about mercedes, well, we'll call this a wake-up experience for them.

i guess if i take the stunt to do something, im hoping that the MB heads out there are gonna come out for the support, cuz im really gonna go t it with my own money, just for pure satisfaction... and maybe some pointers on my 140.

I agree with you there. If it weren't for the free food, I wouldn't have gone.

VW owners are very active and also know their sh*t on their cars. Generally, that's not a combo seen in many MB owners. Good luck with organizing something - I'll definitely be interested.

Oh wow, you sound like me circa two years ago... I pass on the torch to you...

if you would like some pointers on putting together such a large event contact me. Fair warning, if you would like to co-host with mercedes, you will not have sponsors... no ifs ands or buts about it, they made it very clear to me. As stated many times the reason why it was AMG fest was because Robert Allan at the time was AMG product manager and he was our host. I can almost garuantee for you, that MBUSA will not host us this year. I am sorry to say. But again contact me for help if you want it to be BIG, I can rustle up some more of my retired crew? I was thinking of an event in AC this year before last years event took place inviting Kleeman, Renntech, Evosport, Brabus, Lorinser to come out and participate as well.

What's the story with AMG? Were they unhappy with the last event?

Granted , the monsoon downpour had alot to do with it , but MOST of the activities took place indoors/ under the canopy.Mad props (again) to the Maryland crew who made the long haul up in that mess.
