Lexus Performance Driving Academy IS-F

Greetings,

My name is Ryan and i'm the Editor/Events Coordinator of fellow Internet Brands website, Club Lexus. I am extending any invitation for you guys to check out and drive the new IS-F in person on the track. I did get the approval from the site admin to post this here.

-----------------

Coming soon to a racetrack near you, Lexus will be presenting a new twist in exhibiting the all new 416hp Lexus IS-F performance luxury sedan. Unlike previous Taste of Lexus events, this event will allow people to explore the limits of the IS-F at a full fledged race track with expert driving instructors.

Event Dates & Locations

May 9 - 11, 2008 Autobahn Circuit - Joliet, Illinois
May 30 - June 1, 2008 Auto Club Speedway - Fontana, California
June 27 - 29, 2008 Summit Point Motorsports Park - Summit Point, West Virginia
July 11 - 13, 2008 Atlanta Motor Speedway - Hampton, Georgia

There will be two sessions offered for the Lexus Performance Driving Academy. The DRIVING ACADEMY - ULTIMATE which is a half day experience with IS-F. You will be able to experience the IS-F with one-on-one professional driving instruction and a chance to to explore the awesome power and handling. On top of that, you will be able to satisfy your lead foot with many hot laps around the track. Following the exhilarating session of track fun will be an awards ceremony for the participants. Spaces are limited and are filling up quickly for the ULTIMATE. You wont want to miss out on this special event. The other session is the DRIVING ACADEMY which is a 2 hour session which gives you time to drive the IS-F and a host of other performance Lexus models to experience.

You are invited to experience new IS-F. Space is very limited. Please use this invitation number for priority registration to the event. LP44424735

Sounds good, I would definitely do it if I was in the US.

Wish you all the best and no offence, but why/how did you pick these locations? You've avoided some of the big wealth centers on the east coast (NYC/So. CT and So. FL), pretty much ruling out any enthusiasts from there

I'm going to some IS-F test drive this Friday, compliments of the dealership in which I test drove the IS-F? Is it the same thing?

Could you reword this?

I'd stick with your C55...

Well, I test drove an IS-F a few weeks ago. The dealership where I test drove the car sends me an email saying I'm invited to go test drive the IS-F on the track this Friday. It's being held at the same place this driving academy is, and I was wondering if it was the same thing.

If I don't stick with the C55, it's because it'll be replaced by the C63.
However, I will say I am impressed by Lexus's attempt with the IS-F. I've been hatin' on Lexus cars for as long as I can remember, but the IS-F ain't too shabby. Also, the particular car I test drove was the grey/metallic color, which is pretty damed nice.

It was corporate's decision to pick these places. As far as time, race track scheduling and locations, these worked best for them. We had a Moroso event a few months back for those in the area.

Alot of the questions you guys have can be found on the link i provided for the FAQ: https://www.tasteoflexus.com/performance/faq.asp

GENERAL QUESTIONS

What’s the difference between the Saturday/Sunday session and
the Friday ULTIMATE session?
A: The cars, the cost, and the curriculum.

The Saturday/Sunday session is a free, two hour, performance driving experience
that combines hands-on professional instruction with plenty of exciting track-time featuring a variety
of Lexus vehicles.

The ULTIMATE session is a 4 ½ hour premium program that features the Lexus IS F exclusively, requires a nominal fee to reserve, and offers more advanced, high-performance driving techniques.
What is the minimum age to sign up and drive?
A: Drivers in all sessions must be at least 21 years of age and present a valid U.S. drivers license.
What is the cost to attend?
A: The cost to attend the ULTIMATE Friday session is $295 per person and includes everything you’ll need for this exciting experience. The Saturday/Sunday event is free when you register in advance.
What is the cancellation policy?
A: You may cancel your Ultimate reservation up to 7 days prior to the event and receive a full refund. Refunds cannot be given for cancellations received less than 7 days prior to the event. To cancel your reservation, please call 888-906-8941.
What should I wear?
A: We encourage casual and comfortable attire that is appropriate for the climate. As a safety consideration, we require long pants and closed-toe shoes such as sneakers or other rubber-soled shoes. Professional driving suits are discouraged. Helmets will be provided. Remember to bring your preferred sun protection items (ie: sunscreen, sunglasses).
Can I drive my own car on the track?
A: All vehicles will be provided by Lexus.
Where can I get more information about the IS F and other Lexus Performance vehicles?
A: For information about the IS F go to www.lexus.com/isf. You can also learn about the full line of Lexus vehicles at www.lexus.com.
May children attend the event?
A: Due to the nature of the event, we regret that children will not be permitted at the Lexus Performance Driving Academy.
Will the event take place if it rains?
A: In many cases, the Lexus Performance Driving Academy will run during inclement weather. To protect the safety of our guests, we will close the event in extreme weather conditions. Our toll-free Customer Service line will have the most up-to-date information about our event status. If you are unsure if weather may close the event, please call us at (888) 906-8941.
What if I have other friends who want to attend but didn't get an invitation?
A: You may register three participating guests who are 21 years of age and have a valid driver’s license for the Lexus Performance Driving Academy. Guests must be driving participants and not passengers. If you have other friends that did not receive an invitation, they may wish to secure a space on the Priority Standby list by clicking here.

The marketing department at Lexus has twice sent a confirmation for the test drive this Saturday.
The opportunity to consume their fuel and tires is too much to resist, in spite of its Fontana environs.

Are you gentlemen still planning to attend?

just got back from it w/ phil...
it was lots of fun driving...
C-Drive FTL!

besides ugly appearance, IS-F was fun to drive...
paddle shifting was very responsive compared to AMG...
best part was hot ride!

silver CF interior

phil on simulator (he did much better with real driving!)

19" BBS forged rims

IS-F in waiting area

phil on IS350 F sport (had fastest lap time of 23.xx seconds before the penalty )

now the fun part
