I will put out postings on all threads, and create the official Event Flyer.
The official sign-up list will be here in this forum, and there will be a separate list for those who want to participate in the motoring events, assuming the proper insurance and paperwork for your car is all in order.
so in the meantime keep hyping the event in your respective MB forums, and mark your calendar for a day of MB fun on Nov 15th !

hold your horses on posting on other MB boards until that threads comes out.
We will have to have a strict sign-up list this time around (no maybes) because if you plan to run the track, you will need to have proof of insurance, valid state registration, and possibly pay a small fee to cover costs. Nothing like a track fee though. Think minimal.
No cost for attendance / spectators as long as they show up in a Mercedes-Benz.
details coming very very soon... and then we close/lock this thread !

I'm waiting for him to confirm the date, which may slide back a week to the 22nd as a possibility.

I really pushed for the 15th... but it's out of my hands now.
I'm hoping he's going to come back and let me know the 15th is OK.
I even said we could go for Sunday the 16th...

Tomorrow (finally) / Oct 9th... I get the "YES" or "NO" from the Base Commander. I called today, and just kept getting voice-mail.
The anticipation of having a track day was great and all... but if someone really wants to plan that in SoCal, it's not going to happen 2-3 months before hand. You need to plan this a year out ! Ask Angela !
So, it's probably not worth your while to come out here Neal on the 15th, not that I wouldn't want you to come, but if we do go ahead and get the "YES", it's just going to be a typical meet & greet with hopefully a raffle and some light entertainment. No trackie event this year.
For OCTOBER 2009, we can combine it with Wings, Wheels & Rotors and merge with the Porsche, BMW, Audi clubs and take over the whole airfield runways. According to the Base Commander, that is doable, but planning starts now !!!
