Sept 13th SoCal canyon cruise and photoshoot?
Hey guys,
i was talking with mj and pete about doing in a canyon cruise and photoshoot next weekend.
Pete suggested a canyon route between brea and chino since its pretty close to oc and its not a route heavy patroled by cops like the crest hwy route.
I was thinking maybe start it in the early afternoon maybe around 1pm or something and go from there.
I'm open to suggests for other locations, meeting places and times.

Damn, this sounds like a lot of fun and I'd definitely go, but I'm going to the USC v. OSU game and am going to be on campus early for the festivities.
Have fun though

LOL...i'm suppose to hear from service adv tomorrow. they're changing to a third TCU to see if it works. so far, dash cluster's re-coded, oil leak fixed, all wheel speed sensor checked out, esp plug cleaned/replaced, ecu checked out, tcu replaced twice,...
should've just kept my dying gauge cluster to avoid this fiasco...

Maybe we can all meet a in n out or something and have lunch.
This is the route pete was suggesting. Looks like a claim cruise with some twisties.

ok using imageshack, since the stupid google link doesnt work
My suggestion was going up to the foothills.

142 blows...you couldn't go faster than your grandma on there with traffic (and lots of them from Chino Hills). not really a canyon run if you ask me.
I would go with GMR if you really want to have fun, but I don't think MJ's 55 would be ideal on those 1 lane sections. Not sure if I want to go up during the day either because of the BIKEs and cops during the day.
Turnbull over in Hacienda and La Habra is fun too, but there are residential traffic going through and it is VERY dusty with loose gravel a lot. I almost lost it up there once.

I think the closest one is on the 210 and the 57 meet. There is also one on Grand and another one on Azusa alongside the 210.

not trying to scare you guys, but you sure you guys are ready for GMR (red section)? it's 1 1/2 lane wide broken pavement two way traffic. I sure wouldn't want to be the lead car during the day. lol
the blue section up crystal lake is nicely paved btw. higher speed and shorter drive.
the bridge crossing to GMR above the dam is probably the only good location for photo.
