I vote:

Rose Bowl. That was the original idea, and closer to the grand majority of those who would attend anyway.

and I don't mind driving my awesome MB 150+ miles.

but then again, some people are too lazy to drive beyond a 15-mile radius of their home. To each his own...

I dont mind driving either. I can drive hours and not get tired driving my car. Its just a matter of laziness. In fact I love driving, mostly due to the fact this car is so comfortable.

I agree with CitronC230K, ttt.

BTW, nobody has posted pics of what the area looks like at the Rose Bowl, what's there to do right there, is it just a parking lot? What if they have an event there?

BTW: Don't forget the Dana Point meet this Sunday (10/3) at Doheny Beach. Check the other forum's (MBKLA$$E.0RG) Events section for maps details. It's going to be a lunch BBQ with food and stuff, starts at 10:30AM, lots of people going.

Salt Creek Pictures
Here's pictures from my field trip to Salt Creek Beach. There are two parking lots, one next to the Ritz and one few blocks down on Selva Rd. that few know about that is deserted and free (the main lot is $1/hr). Both lots have entire sections that were completely empty as most people like to park closest to the beach entrance. The Ritz has a shuttle golf cart looking thing to take you to the Ritz that seats about 10 although it's for the truly lazy as it's just across a very small street.

if someone gets a chance to cruise out to the rosebowl, snap some pics and post em. like Saprissa had mentioned early what are the regulations for the parking lot. is it open all the time if there is no event. what type of security rent a cops will we have to deal with? if there is an event we will most likely have to pay for parking. does anyone know?

None of your concerns apply at the Rosebowl. Last meet we had there was onn May 8th, 2004, Pasadena Rosebowl Parking Lot K, plenty space (any other parking lots can be used). Unless we scheduled the meet on a planned event at the Rosebowl, the parking lots will be empty, you park, you spend time, you leave.
For pics of the Rosebowl parking lots, you can search on the forum and check out the meet we had on May 8th this year.

The map of the parking lots show plenty to choose from.

Cheers!

Weedermann, like i said before, I dont care where the meet is, I'm going either way. Saprrisa had asked the saem questions I asked with no response. So now that those issues are cleared up, there is no concern regarding the Rosebowl location. Still we should go with a majority vote, so for those who want to go, vote, let us know where we should hold this event.

My concern with the Rose Bowl is that it's about as boring as you can get. Other than meet for a few minutes what's there to do there? Regardless of where it is, I would hate to drive for an hour or more just to say hi and leave and there's nothing else to do. Might as well hold it at Angel or Dodger Stadium, what's the difference?
