Has anyone purchased from Rafael? Does he also sell ELW from MB (not a 3rd party)?Originally Posted by JasonMayes

Newbie
We just purchased the 2 year CPO extension from Jeff Jackson at MB of Louisville yesterday. He was super responsive to all emails/questions. His price was about 50% off what my selling dealership quoted me while in the F&I office. Very thankful for this forum and thread - saved me about $2k!

I bought a CPO E300 -- and bought the CPO extended warranty -- 2 years AFTER the current CPO ends, and unlimited miles. It was $2995. I think I overpaid, LOL. I usually do when it comes to cars, service, etc. LOL.Originally Posted by 1993_300SE
Hi, I am looking to buy the MB extended warranty for my S550 4Matic. I was quoted $5495 (!!) for the 6/100 warranty. Has anybody been able to get a discount on one of these? It seems like it would be a good buy at $3000 but not $5495

For the same price I could have gotten you a 7 year / up to 100,000 mile manufactures extension that provides better coverage than the Mercedes Benz ELW. Originally Posted by BoMB

Like I said! I knew there had to be better options. I asked about extending the original/manufacturers warranty. They said no, because the car was CPO. So, I get the original 4 yr./50k -- I get CPO until March, 2022 -- and then I get one more year CPO, until 2023 -- and then I get 2 more years of the CPO (unlimited miles).Originally Posted by Highline-Autos.com

So, what is it you are selling? 7 year, 100k -- of the original MB manufacturer's warranty? What is the MB ELW you referenced? Thanks.

How can it be better than the manufacturer's warranty if it's the manufacturer's warranty? Or rather, it's really not a manufacturer's extension but an aftermarket one. And has this company been in business longer than Mercedes and will be in business longer than Mercedes? That'd have to be one of the ways its better than the manufacturer's warranty. I'm talking in regards to Mercedes's Extended Limited Warranty. Our manufacture's extensions have better terms, price and more coverage than the ELM. Originally Posted by cetialpha5

5, 6, 7 years / up to 100,000 miles manufacturer's extensions, not the original. The Mercedes ELW is their extended limited warranty. Originally Posted by BoMB

Based on personal experience be VERY CAREFUL buying any extended warranty other than one sold by the manufacturer. I was burned when Warranty Gold declared bankruptcy. I had 3 of their "so called warranties" and they immediately became worthless. I did participate in a class action lawsuits and recovered some of my investment. I also had a third party warranty on a 7 series BMW that I used multiple times but getting approval for repairs and getting reimbursed was a huge PITA. I will NEVER buy another third party "extended warranty", they are actually insurance policies, again. Buyer Beware!Originally Posted by cetialpha5

Your wording is a bit misleading. How can you can it a manufacturer's extension if you're not the manufacturer? It's just an extended insurance policy really as it's not even really a warranty. Originally Posted by Highline-Autos.com

But have you been in business longer than Mercedes? How long have you been in business? I suppose you can't really say how long you expect to be in business in the future. Any deductible? Any pre-approval needed for repairs? Any limit on coverage? If you blow a 25k AMG engine, would it cover that? Originally Posted by Highline-Autos.com

It is not meant to be tricky, it is extending the coverage of the manufacturer, I do not claim to be a manufacturer, but our coverage is comparable to the manufacturer's. Originally Posted by cetialpha5

Got it. Thanks for the clarification...
So, it's not MB the manufacturer, or MB CPO...you call it "our coverage" -- which, simply put, is a third-party, after-market, and someone other than MB -- correct?
Thanks.
