from personal experience, I would just have a thorough pre-purchase inspection done & self ensure. I had a W204 C63 for about 5 years just sold last year during covid. Car never really skipped a beat. The facelift W204 C63 has proven to be a fairly reliable automobile IMO. Yes some of the M156 motors can be problematic. I just say change your oil often & always wait to your motor oil is up to temp before gunning the throttle. Depending on how long and the current mileage you may or may not have to ever do the rocker/ cams do to wear and tear. For piece of mind if you want to do a aftermarket warranty covers solely the engine, that may not be a horrible idea but these things are pretty hardy in 2012-2014 MY.

 

I'm about to pull the trigger on a warranty through Jeff as he was first to respond. Both Jeff and Cassandra gave the same, GREAT rate.

I was looking at, and subsequently purchased the following car:I knew about the CPO extension discounts offered by Jeff and others, because I read about that on here a few years back. I got a price from Jeff and showed it to the local dealership's finance guy, who initially said, "I can't touch that price", yet somehow matched it at closing. I extended the CPO for 2 additional years (for a total of 3) with unlimited miles on that car. that extension was going to expire in Aug 2021, so I started looking around for a replacement vehicle. I didn't know about MB ELWs (extended limited warranty) until i began looking for a car recently and saw that the supply of CPO GLS550s in my price range was scanty.

This one was used, went through an auction and had damage on carfax. Local MB dealer said there was NO WAY he could give me the ELW because I was not the original owner. 2 other MB dealerships said the same thing. I am thankful for these forums

I called both Jeff and Cassandra. they both got back to me pretty quickly; Jeff slightly faster. they both gave me the same info, saying, as long as the MB system accepts the VIN of a particular car AND the car is still under the original 4/50, they can sell me the ELW. the price of the ELW is dependent upon the model, not the mileage or options.

I was looking for an ELW to take me out to 7 years from in service date of 8-March-2018 (8-March-2025) or up to 100K miles.
Jeff's price was $4500
Cassandra's price was $4250

I went with Jeff, even though he was a bit higher on the ELW, because he has been doing it for so long and had given me a great price a few years back on my CPO extension. Without his price a few years ago, I wouldn't have been able to get the local dealer to match it.

As an side, I got prices from both of them on the additional 2 year unlimited mile CPO extension on GLS550 because I was looking at a CPO with a bit more miles on it as well.
Jeff's price was $2720
Cassandra's price was $2770

My dealings with Cassandra never went past that 1st call. That is not to say anything negative about her. she seemed great on the phone. rather, it was more of an obligation I felt to go with Jeff because of getting a price from him a few years ago. From my most recent experience, Jeff got back to me very quickly every time I contacted him (maybe 4 or 5 times this go round). He was professional and having the knowledge that I could, in fact, add the ELW to this car allowed me to buy with much more confidence.

Yes, its still good. I bought a 7yr/75K miles warranty for my new 2020 E-450 wagon in February. It was all done over the phone with credit card and about an hour later I got a PDF of the contract via email. Very effortless transaction.

 

same here. email with the warranty info came shortly after i got the email with the receipt.

 

Stay away from "RED Shield Administration, Inc." They collect the "extended warranty" premium and don't pay for repairs when needed.

After getting "burned" when Warranty Gold went bust I will never ever buy an "extended warranty" from a 3rd party. After the vehicle goes beyond what the manufacturer offers I will self insure by putting away funds for repairs as needed.

 

I bought my ELW from Jeff. After a few Q&A emails with each other, we finalized the deal over the phone. He called me.
Since the warranty was for 7 years, I wanted the hard copy of the warranty with his "wet signature"
That was not a problem for him and he overnighted the original documents to me.

Cassandra was nice on the phone for the first contact and first email.
Afterwards, she did not respond anymore.
That is okay

After purchasing my 2 year CPO extension from Jeff, I waited a couple weeks and then checked with my local dealer to see if it shows up on the dealer database. It did. I need to check to see if I ever received anything in print from Jeff.

just picked up a 2018 E63S with about 1 year left in original factory warranty.
i woild like to explore extended warranty option, before factory expires.

 

I called around and Jeff had the lowest price but you can do the same and see if someone else beats him, which some have claimed.

Another endorsement for Jeff Jackson. I was initially a bit wary spending $$$$ with a car dealer 3 time zones away. However my car is now in the shop at my local dealer and my SA advised me that the warranty was already in the system (as one would expect). So the bottom line is that you can trust Jeff to do things right and to provide a low price.

I lost $2,500 on Warranty Gold 3 weeks after paying! I won’t buy a 3rd party warranty again either!

 

Last time I worked with Jeff Jackson he told me he’s very OCD and does not ever leave anything hanging because the paperwork piles up fast. He also said the legal ramifications of any slip ups can be huge for him and his dealership. He said he doesn’t make mistakes. I thought that was cocky, but when he explained what could happen if he’s not on top of everything I realized it wasnt cockiness, but probably fear due to the consequences.

 

About to purchase a new 2021 GLE 450 and need some information on extended warranty.

1. Should I buy an extended warranty now or wait till right before the factory warranty expires? Does it matter?
2. Is the warranty sold by Jeff (who is constantly referred here as the best source to purchase extended warranty) same as the one from Mercedes Benz or is it a 3rd party?

It costs less if you buy it within 30 days if buying it new, from MB that is, but you are going to find it hard to get one from elsewhere.
