Correct, Freedom Warranty is a third party company providing coverage comparable to the manufacturer, our policies accept repairs by all Mercedes dealers in North America.

Freedom Warranty does have a decent BBB rating and quite a few positive reviews. I'd be interested in feedback from any Mercedes or BMW owners with first hand experience with Freedom Warranty.

All good -- and I am not knocking any person's or company's warranty -- for me, and this is just me, I was willing to pay more money to buy actual "MB" coverage, and an extension of the coverage I am living with today. Again, that's just me. Thanks everyone!

We are taking delivery on a new 2021 GLE 450 on Friday. We tend to keep our cars 7-9 years. Starting out we will have a fresh 4 year 50,000 mile warranty. If I am reading this forum correctly, I can buy the MB extended warranty at any time prior to the expiration of my current warranty. So, if that is the case is there any reason to buy the warranty now or just wait about 3 or 4 years when the original warranty is going to expire and then pay to extend? Is there any cost difference? One benefit of waiting is we will have a better idea as to mileage and years we might want to add.

Greetings.. Am new here and wanted to thank everyone for their contributions.
We just got a quote for an extended warranty by Jeff for our new GLS 450: 7/75 for $3450 and the 7/100 for $4200.
Our local dealer in Houston was asking 7/75 for $5050 and the 7/100 for $5800. I am amazed by how much the warranties have gone up over the last few years.

I was in the same boat in Jan when I bought a 2020 E450 wagon. My selling dealer wanted $3.2K for the ELW 7yr/75K miles warranty so I passed. I contacted one of the folks recommended on this forum and got the ELW 7yr/75K miles for $2200. I was told by this person that if purchased more than 30 days after purchase the price goes up a little and then the more miles you put on the car when you purchase the ELW, the price also goes up. They also mentioned that there is an annual price increase on ELW's. Usually only a few hundred dollars.

WOW, the 7/100 from Jeff is $1000 more than we paid him in Nov, 2020.

I got some really high quotes for my C63S when I got some quotes for both the prepaid service plans and the warranty. I ain't paying for a warranty definitely. If it becomes a major repair, I will just sell the car for whatever it is worth.
I also do not want to deal with all the terms and conditions of the warranty process. A lot of marketing and sales pitches in terms of coverage but not much real coverage you are getting. People who sell you the warranty will not be there to help you when you go seek for coverage.

Based on personal experience be VERY CAREFUL buying any extended warranty other than one sold by the manufacturer. I was burned when Warranty Gold declared bankruptcy. I had 3 of their "so called warranties" and they immediately became worthless. I did participate in a class action lawsuits and recovered some of my investment. I also had a third party warranty on a 7 series BMW that I used multiple times but getting approval for repairs and getting reimbursed was a huge PITA. I will NEVER buy another third party "extended warranty", they are actually insurance policies, again. Buyer Beware!
Guess what? Out of business....could have saved the $5K and put that into preventative repairs such as ABC etc.
Choose carefully....also notice states have different ideas on what a policy really is........in CA not much apparently.

Stick with Jeff. I bought from him about 1 1/2 years ago and a couple weeks ago I could not find the policy email so I contacted him and in less than a day he resent it. He has been in the business for a while and he only sells MB warranties so you'll be covered.

APC car warranty for Fidelity quote
I called the Fidelity customer care at 1-800-327-5172 (contact no. from their website) and asked how I can get a quote for their plans. The customer rep. told me to call APC Car Warranty at 844 773 4956 for any purchase requests. I called APC Warranty and the folks were very patient and provided me the below for my 2017 GLC with 32 k miles.
6 yrs, 60k addl. miles - 5100 for 250 deductible ; 5400 for 100 deductible
5 yrs, 50k addl. miles - 4800 for 250 deductible
3 yrs. 30k addl. miles - 4400 for 250 deductible ; 4100 for 100 deductible
They told me I can take the car to any Mercedes Dealership and my responsibility for each claim should be only the deductible. Taxes on parts / labor are all covered. I had to buy directly from them, so I asked for some time to think through.
