MB Extended Limited Warranty Basics Thread
I took delivery of a new E450 wagon in mind-August, and was offered both ELW and PPM plans through the dealer, and both were significantly higher than what Jeff Jackson at MB of Louisville offered. I actually ordered the car back in March and spoke to Jeff at that time while researching options and obtaining pricing, letting him know I would contact him again as the delivery date got closer. On two occasions the delivery was delayed, and so each time I emailed or spoke with Jeff, and he was always very quick to reply to emails or calls, and he made it a point to make me aware of any upcoming increases in prices (thankfully none occurred). Just yesterday I contacted him and purchased both the ELW and PPM plans, resulting in significant savings over quotes I received elsewhere. Frankly I was skeptical about purchasing either plan, but in speaking with Jeff, knowing I would keep the car for many years, and comparing the costs of service at my local dealer to what the PPM plan costs, it made sense to me. As an aside, it was fun "talking cars" with Jeff, who is clearly an enthusiast and can appreciate the brand. I highly recommend him should you need an ELW or PPM plan!

Also, everyone complaining about $3k for an extended warranty? The 7yr/100k ELW for an E63 is $8400 retail, so it could be worse.

ELW: Both Jeff and Rafael quoted me $3,850 for an additional 2 years of ELW. This is significantly lower than the dealership's offer, but I haven't been able to get any other quotes. I haven't been able to reach Erin at MB of Santa Rosa. Is it worth trying to shop around further? Is there anyone else I should reach out to?
PPM: I'm not as convinced that I need this. Jeff quoted me $1,490 for 2 years and $2,190 for 3. The car has barely 7,000 miles today, and I don't expect to put a lot of miles on it (< 5,000 miles/year). I doubt that I will even hit 20,000 miles in the next couple years. Any thoughts on the cost-benefit of PPM? How much would a 10K or 20K service approximately cost? I'm based in the SF Bay Area.

I maintained my GLC300 with PPM and will do it again for the next one.
My red flag was up the minute they said that I have to either accept or decline the offer at the end of the call and there is no way I can call them again to get the same deal
. Needless to say I ended the phone call before he was finished talking and told him not to contact me again
. Just wondering if anyone has used this company called "red auto protection"?
”Scam”!
Mercedes Benz corporate had an issue with my records which would have prevented me from buying their extended warranty.
Rafael solved the problem in minutes, quoted me the price and answered all my questions. And his
OTD price for a 3 year 100k extended warranty for my wife's 2019 c300 was over $1500 less than my local MB dealer's.
It was an absolute pleasure to do business with him.
