2002 G500 build/ restoration/ conversion photo thread
Didn't you also changed your sunroof to a moon roof! Did you get the moon roof insert from a dealer? I just got hood winked by an upholster that gave my G back to me without installing the sunroof panels with suede material I provided!
I was like really! The 95% looks great but
You know this isn't going to go well for me! I was so blown! Now I have to have someone else complete this part of the job! He is telling me that another upholster says it can be replaced without removing the headliner!
Can you remove the sunroof inserts without taking the headliner out?
I also installed the after market mirrors and both motors burned out! drivers side in the closed position! You mentioned the wiring was changed I think because of voltage differences! I do see that there are new motors on ebay but don't have a place to send them for repair. Was your place in the US?
Thanks for your responses also! I look everyday to see if you posted any more pictures of the wonderful recreation!
Brad

Thank you
I installed the moon roof myself. It did require some modifications, wasn't very easy, but I got it done. I posted some pictures of how I was installing it earlier in my thread.
If you still have the steel sunroof you can remove and install the interior panel without removing the headliner. You would install it from the outside of the car, from the top and then it should just clip in with couple or few clips.
I have not had a chance to connect my door mirrors, but I hear that the turn signals in the mirrors do throw an error message so they might require a resistor. The guys that rewired my window switch did install a resistor for the mirror folding option on that switch. I don't know exactly what they did. They are located in the Russia so I had to send the switch and some other parts out to them.

**So apparently they use "red" thread lock on this little stub. When I went to unscrew it, the inside bolt spun. I ended up making a hole to access the bolt so I can remove the old stub and install a new one. After I took this photo, I treated the bare metal with paint and installed a rubber grommet. Eventually this will be covered with trim.
