Went to visit Ebay seller "slava81" today from Portland Oregon that has lots of G500, G550, G63 parts. He just parted out 2015 G63 and I had to go and buy some parts from him
I purchased parts from him before, but this time I went in person and got just a some random parts and miscellaneous clips and plugs that are a headache getting from the dealer and some are just not in a catalog.
**I promise you, he did not ask me to post this about him. He doesn't even know I am, but I think he could be such a big help to allot of the G-Wagon owners that are looking for parts.
Since all the door glass is new, the rear glass came without that window regulator bracket so I relocated the bracket from the old glass to the new glass using new rubber seals.
Sprayed the inside bottom of each door with 3M cavity wax spray. Once it dries it becomes transparent (not so milky). Did it carefully to make sure not to get it on the internal parts or sound deadning.
All cars from factory come with cavity wax sprayed inside doors, and in the cavities all over the body. Its oil/wax based substance that protects areas that could get moisture in them from rusting.
I will be spraying it in other places, inside sides sills, inside the frame, etc...
Late question, but do you have any concern that all of the extra insulation will cause any mis-alignment of the window lift parts? Or is the tolerance big enough to not be a problem?
No, there is no issue with the window regulators. Sound deadening fits just right and nothing is in the way of the window regulators. If I went any thicker, then it would start touching the front regulator.
In Korea, it's not really uncommon practice, not only just for sound deadening but also to reduce wind noise as well as the noise from ground. They are paying a fortune even on a new, high end cars like Mercedes and Bentley.

Are you replacing any door control modules or other control modules?
What is your plan regarding programming? Have you looked into the need to reprogram some of these items so that they work?
I'm asking because an MB Tech told me that I should not replace my door control modules myself but need to take it to the dealer so that they can program them.
I'm curious to know what you think about this considering all your work on these electronic components.
