Yes, Definitely that's the plan. I found a company in Europe that sells similar product to Dynomat, i'm going to insulate entire interior and then go over with special sound deadening foam in some places like roof and doors. I also want to laminate the glass with 18 mil film, possibly give it some sound insulation and protection as well.
Which glass were you referring to? Any good clear film available to protect the front windshield? I can see that it will be more prone to rocks hitting it ☹️.
There is one company that I know of that specializes in windshield protective film. Can’t remember the name but if you search for it you will find it.
I asked a local shop about it and they said it does not last very long before having to replace it and does not protect from big flying rocks that will crack your windshield with or without the film. Knowing that, I am not sure if I want to invest in the pricey install.
Did you end up doing the ceramic coating on the entire truck?
Noticed big difference after treatment?
Hey K,
if you remember could you give me some feedback with this question I had for members but have not had any responses.
curious if your model year is the same...
Thanks!
Very hot after a good drive.
I have noticed that the area on the top hood near the side blinkers gets extremely hot to the touch after a good drive.
Basically it’s the body panels that the top blinkers are sitting on top of and some area of the hood that gets heat up quite a bit.
My other 2 non AMG Mercedes does not get this hot to the touch for sure. I also had one of the new E300 as a loaner and was surprised after driving over 60 miles and the hood and fender area was not even warm to the touch.
Just wondering if this is normal because of the big power AMG motor creating so much heat or just poor air circulation design?
Is it normal for those body panels body panels to get hot like that on the G63 AMG ?
I'll try the windshield film, ill see how it works out and how it lasts.
I have not noticed that it gets hot there, but I did notice that front end gets pretty warm around the grill area.
The design is not like other Mercedes front ends, so im sure it dissipates heat differently then other cars.
So I’m going to try out these Z Shape rubber seals just on the back portion of front and rear door.
Ill see how long they will last, if they will do any good.
Its stuck on with double sided tape to the inner side of the door.
Comes off if needed.
This is just to cover the gap between the door and the body. Possibly wind noise decrease and keep door jams a little cleaner.
At least it will serve as scratch prevention for the doors.
Was your paint job done by an authorized MB body shop ?
Just curious how much they charge to spray the entire body with Palladium Silver with metallic. Pretty close to factory finish and quality of job?
Paint job was done by a local, friends body shop.
It makes no difference if the shop is Mercedes authorized or not, as long as they do a good job.
I prepped the body all by myself and I taped everything myself as well, basically I just used his paint booth and he had one of his guys do the painting.
I then wet sanded the entire body and polished it.
I’m pleased with the end result and I think it’s a very good paint job.

Definitely agree as long as they do a good job.
Just curious as to how much a shop MB authorized shop charges versus a regular shop.
I have a body shop locally that pushes the fact that they are MB authorized... and I think they charge higher because of that.
Stunning....Am so happy for you. Most times, when individuals set off on this kind of journey, they never complete it. Congrats.
Please do a 10 part series of your journey with the project however you can and monetize it on youtube. You deserve to recoup some costs back and am sure many people would love the videos.
What a great story! Just went through the whole thread. Nice job, most of us would have finished only 10%, you pulled through, that’s a car that should never leave the family. Nice work indeed.
Hi @Kobzarhomes I'm upgrading the central panel using the bracket for dashboard A2036890416 (not easy but thanks to your pictures it's doable)
I have a doubt about the installation of the UCP hazard trim, which I fix only with the two upper screws but like this the lower egde is not flush to the Radio/CD.
The hazard trim has to kins of clamps below but I don't undertsand how they work (see picture) did you use them? Do you have any tip to get a best fit?
Thanks and regards
