Ok, I'm curious if this issue relates to driving styles.
Do you guys usually drive your G wagons in sport of sport+ mode?
My wife drives a 2019 G63 as well (hers is black and mine is silver) and she has yet to break a windshield and I've broken two. I know for a fact that her car is always in comfort mode.
Maybe that has something to do with it.....

haha definitely it's the road condition. I drove the new car back from Charlotte NC to NYC, 10 hrs 700miles no cracks. Today from nyc to paramus nj just few miles at speed of 60mph this happened. Filed claim with insurance(state farm), I think they will give me a settlement check for the repair (less than what dealership quote) I hope won't be too much less. Will see tomorrow.

I ordered my second windshield 2 Aug. Due to arrive next week 1 Oct. Waiting time in Sweden is no better...
Small rock chip cracked the window almost full length.
As said here before the previous generation could take infinite number of chips without cracking but these new ones are like ice.
I still wonder if it is related to whether you have the option of heated windshield or not. (Option F49 - around 500usd) On the new G that is a solid film in-between two layers of glass so that could explain the fragility of the outer glass.

Is it a standard feature in the US market? Probably not.
Annoying that there is no way of telling if the car has it as there is no control button for it as it used be on previous gen. Now it turns on automatically when you turn on windshield vents. Which in itself is annoying that you can't control it separately. Whole point was to be able to thaw ice and defog without having to blast air on the inside.
My guess is most def wrong if no US cars has the option.
