2020 New allocation vs purchasing from dealer
For the basic White, Silver, Grey or Black, how much over are you seeing in Southern California? I was looking at these colors with the night package, designo leather, and 360 parking as must-haves which mostly all of them should have. The only reason, I would spec out a 2020 or 2021 would be to have a black roof and black fenders. Is Matte really going for more?
I offered $20k over for an Obsidian Black and they said no. Mostly everyone I speak with seems to be around $30-$35k. I saw a post from an artist, Alec Monopoly that he negotiated MSRP and just recently came in and his SA bait and switched him for $20k probably thinking that he was a celebrity, etc. He roasted that dealership and SA on his IG and people commented some bad things from MB Keyes Van Nuys.
I plan on keeping the G63 for a while but thinking if paying more than $20k+ to wait 12 months is worth it. I know it eventually is my decision but do you think a year from now, it will hit MSRP, etc.
Thanks in advance!
If they can take your order at MSRP, you could pay for a flight to and from NYC first class to place an order in person and then pay for transportation across country at delivery for less than $20,000.
I'd personally never pay over sticker just on principle.
It's all fair play in Limited Luxury Land to charge +$35K for Market Adjustment for a G63 - exactly the same market adjustment for Porsche GT3 RS for every Porsche dealer in SoCal....
The "burn" is on the Porsche if you place a order - delivery will be MSRP..
The SoCal dealers have more than enough customer order backlog now - and enough left over for market-adjustment/delivery-now - and with the added Manufakter choices just keeps SoCal guys like you locked down.

Crazy
The next part "I called out-of-state".. after a not-so-bad post recommending MB Manhattan "might" be able to accept a face-to-face order ...
"Most" MB dealers has customer pre-orders (w/deposit) that will take them out over 14-18 months on G63's - and out 10-12 months on G550's.
Limited supply versus "apparent" high demand - I say apparent since it will take some more units to be delivered to "shake the order tree" as to who with deposit will fade away...
The manufaktur move is smart - and understand that is a strong signal Steyr will NOT be increasing production - thru added manufaktur options MB can make more dough - and MB is far from the 1st to use this manufaktur strategy..
Don't buy in to this markup. Just order and wait. I'm sure you have other cars. I turn down 2, one at 20k and one at 10k.

I stopped looking as I want to actually drive one first vs just buying it which is impossible. There isn't a dealer who will allow this which is insane considering its a $200k car. Maybe you wont like it? How do you buy a car just on its looks? I know what the old one was like as I had a 15 and probably would have never sold it if I new this was going to happen as I should have.
Autotrader has so many listed across the country how isn't there some small dealer that will sell at MSRP? I need to drive first but for you guys looking to just buy it there are tones of them on Autotrader? Are they all fishing for additional money over MSRP?
Your crazy if your spending $50k over MSRP I don't care what you have thats just dumb!
I didn't even walk into a Mercedes dealership. Just picked up my phone and called my Porsche GM. He made a phone call to the sister Mercedes dealership and voila, 2020 G63 to be delivered in 5 months time at MSRP. I HATE dealing with BMW/Mercedes dealerships.

I found a dealer in SoCal that had an allocation in October for December arrival for a 2020 model.
