Got some wiring done - figured out how to wire in my DRL's and also routed the Brabus lights into the factory fog light switch:

Common thing to do is wire the DRL's directly into the water pump, but I didn't want the load going there so I used the jumper in the engine bay combined with a relay and then used the water pump as the "switch" to the relay...

Tried my best to make it look as factory as possible:

You can see the wire going down to the water pump:

DRL's running with the truck...

Finally the Brabus fog wiring all done as well:

Also installed black LED parking lights...

I have been wanting to update my 2005 G55 front lower bumper with the G63 lower. Do you know how hard the Chinese version fits up?
So far the build looks amazing and the quality of work is fantastic.

With G63 grill, new front bumper, headlight surrounds, and G63 fenders...

With new vertical style G63 grill...

Personally I like that a lot better - I think I'll roll with that...

New headlights wired up - simple plug and play. I'm going to put HID's in there, but that's with just normal halogens. Look pretty good IMO...

And now mocked up with the Brabus body kit - not 100% sure I love it... I'll get it painted though and decide after I get it all put together...

Everything is already over at paint. When I first got the car I had my paint guy camera the color for a perfect match. When painting your car don't let the paint shop just use the OEM color code. Over the past 17 years this truck has seen tons of California sun - fading the paint. If he just used the color code it wouldn't match. Anyway, I trust him 150%. He's done a TON of painting for me over the years - I joke with him that I should own 50% of his shop by now.

It fits about as well as I think the OEM stuff would. They give you quite a few adjustment screws for the bumper so you can get it pretty dang flush if you want to. I'll post some pics once I get it on, but at the end of the day, it's all ABS plastic thrown into a mold so hypothetically there shouldn't be much variation from OEM.

Thanks! You have given me hope and inspiration to get this upgrade done. I am going to order the front bumper this weekend. By chance, can you post the link of where you bought the front headlights and rear head lights?
I will wait for the pictures that show how the bumper can be adjusted and such!

Headlights were purchased through AliExpress.com, and same with the tail lights. I believe both can also be purchased through eBay as well as they're just a Chinese product with different suppliers. Here's some eBay links:

Starting to come together with the front bumper, DRL's, and the headlights... getting excited...

I will also mention, the halogen bulbs were replaced with Morimoto 35W HIDs - they look good and bright.

Got it all back together - fenders and all. Headlights are nice and bright, but need to be re-aimed. They're shooting a little high.

Can't complain about the way it turned out. Next is wheels...

One thing I forgot to mention was the powder coat that I had done. You can see in the pics above the powdered front brush mount guards and rear tire cover surround. I've ordered a carbon fiber wheel cover from the Ukraine but still have a few days before it gets here. Theres no more chrome on the truck and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Looks great so far. My only question is where in Utah you still have green grass? Even St George is brown this time of year.

Got the wheels put on - don't look too bad if I do say so myself. They sit pretty flush with the new fenders. On a side note if anyone needs some old wheels and tires, happy to send them your way.

Looks spot on - well done, I'm very impressed. Doing some works soon on our 1990 G. Have some new front and rear wings to attach. The UK weather is so terrible for cars (the winter salt) they suffer so, so bad!! Rust just takes over like a disease.

Well, basking in finishing the exterior didn't last long. Next step is to take out all the brown wood grain and get it refinished. The G comes apart pretty easily so everything was pulled out in less than 2 hours. Hardest part was the "Oh shiz bar." Hard to get back behind there without removing the airbag. I always thought the brown woodgrain looked dated. I've got a guy that does hydrodipping, so he's going to refinish it in a dark grey woodgrain pattern. I had an E class with that same color combo and I liked it. He's matching it with a black walnut pattern. Should take about a week.

Steering wheel pulled - pretty easy to do - if you need help, just find pulling an e-class steering wheel on YouTube... it'll guide you...

Everything pulled. Center console is very easy. Just look for the clips and a couple screws. No biggy. You'll need to unscrew the four screws holding in the glove box to get behind the dash and get that bar out. It's a tight fit to get in there, but doable.

All the parts out and ready to take in for hydrodip.

Best thread I've seen on this entire forum. Good work sir.

EDIT: Do you have a price list for your Tacoma? That's one handsome truck!

I don't. That truck has long sense sold. I did make some good money on that one though and had fun working on it.

Got the CF tire cover installed. Good quality - took about 3 weeks to get from the Ukraine, but pretty inexpensive. I installed it over the top of the stock tire cover - there was some play in it. Not sure if that's how it supposed to go or not, but it's nice and tight so seems right to me.

Wow what a transformation, looked real nice with the kit and lights but then the wheels really made me sit up and take notice, what a stunning G.

Where did you get the vertical slat front grill and dark indicator lenses and what LED’s did you use in there, did you get any error messages?

Brilliant transformation

Carl
