2020 G63 - picking up next week - few questions..
After a long wait, it has finally arrived at the port!
I wanted to ask if you guys have any recommendation on the prepaid maintenance and the wheel & tire package.
I am being quoted:
Wheel & tire plus: $2,680
Maintenance (A&B): $2,160
This is my first G63 so am not aware if these are good numbers or not.
I am planning on owning it for at least 2 years so the factory required service (A&B) will need to get performed.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Will post pics when it arrives!

If you find you damage your wheels often in your area, then wheel and tire may be worth it. Personally, I find that forged wheels these days are able withstand all but the most ridiculous of potholes, and even then it will only get bent if you hit it at high speed.
Is the maintenance package for just 2 services or all 4? If it's 4, then I say do it. If it's 2, that seems more than what it would cost to pay on the spot since A is about $500 and $B is around $1200 for AMG cars.

Some local tire places will let you buy a road hazard warranty on new tires when you take delivery - may be worth asking around as that would be cheaper for insurance. With the money saved you can self-insure at least one rim being damaged.
You can shop around for prepaid maintenance from any MB dealership and it's honored locally. I called my local dealer and at least for the G550 they quoted around $350 for the A service and $750 for the B service. A local indy shop quoted $220 for A and $380 for B.

If you are only planning on owning the truck for two or three years it's not worth it. IMO. I have had issues with wheels on other high performance vehicles but never with my two G wagons. Usually wheel problems are brought about by the narrow sidewalls and the stiff characteristics of run flat tires. Keep your money invested.

I agree with the above - skip both options. There is so much tire you will not bend a rim and an Indy shop will be less than half the dealer cost for service.

My G63 just arrived and i skipped the add-ons... rims arent expensive to repair and i am not too concerned about prepaying for maintenance... trust me, if it wasnt to their advantage, they wouldnt offer it to you 😀

Thanks for all the responses. I don't see any benefit for prepaying what will be generally the same cost in the future.
Glad to hear about the lack of issues with the tires on the G63.
I live in NYC so the roads aren't the best..

We live in NJ and have had our G63 for a little bit over a year and have replaced 3 tires so far. We have 22" rims and when road hazard get the tires, they recommend to replace the tire not repair it (this is before they knew I had the warranty). For us, it has been worth it.

I have the 22" wheels and bought the package. Have replaced 2 tires already. Low profile wheels, aggressive driving and living in a city made this a no brain decision and I'm confident I'll come out on top on this one. Have a small scuff on one of the wheels but takes 2 days to repaid so holding out on getting that sorted till I bring in for the annual service.

GET GLASS PROTECTION PACKAGE...repeat... GET GLASS PROTECTION PACKAGE... check the coverage cap before your sign... look, a G windshield is about $3600 installed and there isn't a new gen G-Wagon owner planning for or 2-3 years ownership that won't go thru at least one replacement..

I Always skip those coverages because I don’t keep vehicles long enough. They prorate the coverage when you sell in many instances, but the initial cash outlay is not worth it IMO.
Now, on my wife’s vehicles, I do purchase the wheel tire and we have used it several times.

I purchase wheel and tire on all my cars. Has paid for itself on most cars, have yet to use on the G. Maintenance is a pass. I always pass on the maintenance, math never works out. I usually get pretty nice discounts on all my services.

If you "think" your Insurance covers a $3600 windshield - you are best to call your Agent to see if it does - of it does not.
I have seen Auto Policies that cap at $800 for replacement - I have seen more than a "bunch" of customer who said "yes, my Insurance Cover's the windshield" when frankly it did not cover $1 on windshield replacement - windshield "repair" and not "replacement".
Now - on the good side - I had a G63 owner whose low mileage 2019 G63 had the fuel injection wiring chewed by mice (he didn't know) - the resulting fuel injection faults "sputtered" the pistons with too much fuel - and blew his engine - surprise his Homeowner's Policy" covered the engine replacement (vermin damage) .. and you don't want to ask what that ticket totaled up to be...
