Cool. I had a dealer contact me last week, which I had talked to earlier this year, who offered me a 2021 G63 at MSRP so maybe the days of big markups are starting to end.

Highly doubtful. I had a deposit from Nov 2019 to July 2020 with another dealer and hadn’t received a PO # or anything tangible. Luckily for me another dealer I had spoken to back in Nov 2019 randomly reconnected with me on Friday and offered me a Sep build spot that was not changeable and I declined the offer bc it wasn’t the build I wanted. That same dealer had a Nov build spot that was changeable and knew I had a deal at msrp she offered me the same deal with a PO # that day if I committed a $5K non refundable deposit. I committed on the spot and called the dealer I had a refundable deposit with for 8 months with no clarity on build date/delivery and told him to cancel my order and refund me. Great *******g feeling! However, he didn’t care as he told me he could sell my car for 30-50K over msrp.

Well that is 2 deals at MSRP for a G63, which seems like a good start to me!

i think it depends on dealer quotas, region and custom order vs taking someone’s allocation... everyone that i know that has ordered a G63 has paid 15k-30k over... the demand is just too strong... that said, there are some pockets of luck.

I referred my buddy to a local dealer and they wanted 25k over for an allocation and he refused... the car was sold to someone else 3 days later.... 63 is just too high in demand vs supply.

Correct. There are some "pockets" of luck out there but overall the 63 market is undersupplied. There is simply not enough of them. 550's on the other hand can be had with little effort.

EJ, pm’ed you.....and glad I did! The dealer you referred to me had a G550 build at no markup for a delivery this October or early November and I jumped on it. I had a deposit for a $10k over with about the same timeframe but can’t beat the savings.

AMG GTR, G63, Mclaren 675 LT S, 991 GT3 RS, 991 GT3, many more
I’m in NJ and my dealer is in PA and have paid MSRP for both of mine. Had a Stronger than time and pickup my new Jupiter Red tomorrow that arrived today.

But, tomorrow’s pickup will be my 5th G from them along with everything else I buy from them. I know they charge over for them to out of town buyers, but what the GM told me is orders are mostly MSRP.

when they have someone back out it’s over MSRP.

New G63 (and new cars in general) are in a strange place market wise since while demand is down, supply is way down due to all the factory shutdowns.

If one wants to get a deal on a G63, get into a lightly used one. Especially if you are just going with a popular spec like white/obsidian black with 22" black wheels and black interior and carbon trim. The used market tumbled alot more than the new market.

Not for the current generation G 63's. 20's are going for at least $10-15k over msrp for low mile cars wholesale

Yeah, I was going to say the same thing. Base Manheim MMR on 2020s was $183K last month when I had a friend of mine check.

Where do you suggest I look for a G550 for MSRP? I have a excellent relationship with my dealer as I've leased 3 high end Benz's (S Class's & CLS) through my business but my dealer is not offering a G550 at MSRP.

Online prices still seem to be marked up as well.

what can you do with a P.O. can you track or follow it thru the factory and see the time line. You can do this with BMW's. or is this just notification that you actually have an order in place?? Thanks i await my 2021 G550. MJC

A P.O. # means that you have an order in place for you under your name. You can't track it in real time. However, your dealer will receive updates and be able to track it as it goes into the production timeline.

Drop me a PM if you don't mind buying out of state. I just helped someone here get one at MSRP here in FL at MSRP and he is having it shipped to his home. Or one can fly in and drive home.

EJ,

Mind letting me know which dealer you secured this allocation from? Hunting one at MSRP.
