Difference between G550 "interior appointments"

hello everyone,

I'm trying to understand the difference between "Exclusive interior appointments" and "G manufaktur interior appointments"
The build it on mbusa states that:

Exclusive has: Genuine leather is elegantly topstitched to the seats, the upper and lower dash, and the cargo door trim in contrasting thread. Nappa leather encircles the rich velour carpeting of the floor mats.
G manufaktur: Genuine leather is elegantly topstitched to the seats, the upper and lower dash, the doors, and the cargo door trim. Exclusive G manufaktur options include a range of single-tone and two-tone leathers, or Black leather with stitching in a range of colors. Nappa leather encircles the rich velour carpeting of the floor mats.

I don't plan on ordering two tone leather. My build will be black interior with amg pkg and night (which means red stitching). I am trying to understand what does either of these interior packages add with respect to leather. Is the upper lower and cargo trim not leather as standard?... Is the door trim not included on exclusive but is on G manufaktur?

Thanks for your help!

G-Manufaktur is just different color combos and stitching options. It also replaces the trim on the grab handle with a metal trim with "G Manufaktur" printed on it, and I believe moves the original trim material to the rear trunk door handle. So if you have carbon fiber trim, your passenger grab handle will be metal, and the rear trunk will be carbon fiber.

Quality and coverage of the leather is identical.

Thank you. AMG with night adds red stitching and seatbelts. Will the stitching on the rest of the trim be red as well (provided I do not select either exclusive or gmanufaktur?

lastly, is trim (leather) coverage the same at standard level and gmanufaktur?

thanks again!

I hated the look of "G Manufaktur" imprinted on the passenger grab handle, especially since I ordered mine with Zen wood so I ordered the Zen wood insert, which looks so much better. I could have also changed the roof grab bars to leather, etc. so keep in mind that many of the little interior items can be changed if a certain package does not meet all of your expectations.

Standard level does not have leather on lower part of dash and sides of console. Also no leather on doors. Not sure about dash. Cargo leather piece is flat versus stitched. So standard much different than exclusive or g manufaktur.

Likewise my friend! Here is the part# for the Zen trim on the handle: 46368321002B20. You can Google it to see who has the best price; however, if you put it in your cart at https://www.mboemparts.com/mercedes-benz-parts and leave you should get a code to use for free shipping in a couple of hours or so. I paid a little under $90 from what I recall.

Believe it or not I am still waiting for my dealer to get a couple more Zen steering wheels to see if one better matches the rest of the Zen wood!

thanks Bob - I ordered one last night for delivery next week. I absolutely hate the G manufacktur logo. Don't know who ever thought that was a good idea to put that on the grab bar.

My wife wondered the same! If you ever want more Black & Blue inside my dealer will give me the two-tone steering wheel since thus far they cannot find a matching Zen wood steering wheel, and if so we can trade.

I forgot to mention that to remove the trim piece from the grab bar use the thinnest trim removal tool you have and come up from the bottom to pop it off. There will be metal clips on the plastic tabs so take them off and move them to the new piece before installing.
