Very cool! I love the machined wheels. I’m not a fan of purple on cars but it works here

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...g500-europa-3/

according to the peanut gallery ~500 were made
If I had one I’d get a purple Nokia 6110 to go along with this ride

did you find one for sale?

Technically the 1999-2000 Europa International G 500's are considered the "Classic" ROW version for US Market. There are less than 400 unit's imported and federalized by Europa in NM.
In those few years you could spec them with ROW standard exterior G colors and most of them were Black/Dove Grey leather interior derived from the W140/Single Hide Calfskin with Zebrano Walnut wood interior pieces.

Neiman Marcus had their own special version in collaboration with Europa International for their 2000 Holiday Catalog(Only 15 produced/6 Sold).
They only came in Obsidian Black/Tan/Swedish Birch wood

My 2000 Classic Limited Edition

Thanks for the detailed information. I live abroad the U.S. and have investigated that this is not necessarily related to the ones imported in the U.S. by that time.
Understand that only 500 were made of this special 20th anniversary edition and all of them were painted in Black Almandine. The special edition also included several other newly extras like steering controls, paired rings with color, etc. etc.
Look at the pics of mine G500.
Too bad I havent been able to know exactly which production number out of the 500´s is mine.
Love my G. It only counts with 53,000 Kms... (some 33K miles) and is in pristine conditions.
Regards.

Beautiful G500! I am not sure how many were made but if I do find out later, I will let you know.

In the meantime, here is the exact G500 "Classic" as you have for the G-Klasse "20 Jahre Anniversary" sold from the late James Petrozzini collection. He was a real estate mogul from Chicago.
It was sold on BAT for an underwhelming $56,000 USD and sold again to another dealer, listed on eBay and sold again for close to $75-80k finally.

Thanks for the info. The more I learn from my G the more I love it !
Mine was imported directly by the MB General Manager on year 2000 with all the extras included (front chrome grille with bosch speed lights, fire extinguisher underneath the pilot seat, folding seats as a third row, etc.) I bought it directly from him before he passed away.

That G on the BAT listing was then put on Ebay for like $80k. If they held on to it today I'm sure they could get more than what they paid on BAT for it back then.

gmaschine -- as a Europa G owner, I absolutely love these old Europa advertisements. Any chance you recall where you found them?

Numbers/markings of the 500?

Hi,

Did anyone find out if these were numbered/marked with a plaque etc?
Were the VIN/chassis numbers sequenced? I would guess not so I wonder if MB has a list with all the VINs of the original 500. Or were there 400 like some info says?

I may have the opportunity to buy one, but would think they were a lot more collectible if marked. Where would you guess the breaking point on mileage is where it becomes less attractive for collectors?

Hi,

I have one of these on hand but the milage is 138000km(85000 miles) and the paint is pretty worn, a lot of chips (especially in the front) and some scratches.
Will it still be sought after and increase in value or is it only the "mint" ones with low mileage that are collectible?

What do you estimate this car is worth today?
