I've only ever driven the G on some form of MT or AT tire. I bought it with Toyo Open Country MT and it was very loud, as in obnoxiously loud. So I switched them out for the KO2's which I've had on several trucks before the G. It's my AT tire of choice and very versatile for all conditions.

The KO2's are pretty quiet overall on the highway and are usually drowned out by wind and exhaust noise. I've had KO2's on my G55 for ~18k miles now and they've been great. Much quieter than the old Pirelli Scorpion Zero tires I had on there that had plenty of tread left, but were dated early 2012.
I'm running them in 285/60R18 which is a 31.5" tire. Plenty of room on OE G63 springs and no wheel spacers. You can probably get away with upsizing slightly without any issues.
For reference:
18" Tires
265/60R18 = 30.5"
265/65R18 = 31.5"
265/70R18 = 32.6"
275/65R18 = 32.1"
275/70R18 = 33.2"
285/60R18 = 31.5"
285/65R18 = 32.6"
20" Tires
265/60R20 = 32.5"
275/55R20 = 31.9"
275/60R20 = 33.0"
275/65R20 = 34.1"
285/55R20 = 32.3"
285/60R20 = 33.5"

We've run 275/55R20 on our G63 and G65 with no issues. First set was BFG KO2, current set is General Grabber ATX (which have much better manners than the KO2s on-road and in the rain)

I have a 2016 G63 but have purchased 18" rims (Alpha) from Jacks Overlander. On these I am running 265/65/R18 as I do a lot of offroading. I have just finished a 22,000 km treak across Australia and they perfromed well across multiple tgerrain types. The higher profile tyre enables you to deflate for sand and mud so they deliver on purpose as opposed to looking 'aggressive',

OWN
G550 2012
running OEM 20” G63 Wheels
would a 305/50R20 fit without rubbing (with or without spacer)? Going for lower height but wider tires to stick out from fender (does not need to be much). Or do you recommend 295/50R20 and run spacers? Ive seen another gwagon run 305 but not sure how much it rubs (if any)

305's fit nicely with a 31mm spacer
325's fit if you get the offset of a new rim right.... 18x9.5 et25 seems to work well...
G63 on 305's not lift
G55 - 2" lift and 325s'

All pics of the 63 are Toyo At2's( 305/55/20) - the 55 is running At3's (325/60/18), the III provides a decent improvement, and a bit smoother rolling casing it seems...
