ClearPlex Windshield

Has anyone done the ClearPlex windshield protection on their G63? Wondering if it effects any of the sensors

ClearPlex is probably the best one ask. If there is a problem, that part of the film could be carved out, although that would leave a small area of glass unprotected.

I have it on mine as well. So far I have no issue with rocking hitting and etc.. but I'm sure it's great to have for preventing those horrible occasions. Thanks to spourreza for introducing to a wonderful shop in NJ.

I had ClearPlex installed on my G 63 before I left the dealership. I'm in Utah also, and I break windshields about once a year. I like ClearPlex (no problems with sensors, etc.), and I put it on all of my cars. My personal experience is that ClearPlex works about half the time. My G 63 got hit by two rocks about 30 seconds apart on I-80 near SLC. The first rock cracked my windshield But, the second rock only left a small blemish in the ClearPlex film ClearPlex (or other competing films) is worth it.

BTW, who are you going to have install your ClearPlex? I had a hard time finding ClearPlex installers in the SLC area. And, the price ranged quite a bit ($300 up to $600). I finally got the name of a guy, Jon Black (I think Ferrari SLC told me about him), and he did a great job for $350. BTW, ask your installer to apply ceramic coating to the ClearPlex. I don't think it adds any additional protection, but it makes it easier to clean the windshield.

THanks for the info.. Yes, SLC is brutal on windshields in the summer. I just replaced one on a Z8 and a vintage 911. I use Luxe for all my wrap /tint work, always have done a stellar job

Clearplex also has a glass protection option that will replace the windshield for free. More $$$ but may be worth it in your location. Check their website.

Regards

APC is awesome. Not only ClearPlex, they wrapped my wife's Tesla, did amazing job. Whenever I visit, I see exotic cars all the time including G of course. Would highly recommend if you're in NJ.

Try contacting local shops that do window tinting. Similar skill set. Or, they may be able to direct you to someone local. I've had ClearPlex installed on three or four cars at different times by different installers, and they all did a nice job.
