Automatic Lock Disable?

I’ve scoured the owners manual and don’t see any mention of being able to disable the automatic lock upon drive-off. Same with the search feature on the forum. Am I missing it, or is it just not possible to disable on the W463A? Thanks!

Hahaha, that’s great, I need to tell
my wife that. The rifle bolt “ca-chunk” sounds cool to me, but it startles her every time. Not a huge deal, was mostly curious if it’s able to be disabled. Based on my internet searching, I don’t think so.

Have you tried the "Automatic Door Lock" function in Vehicle > Vehicle Settings? It's there on my 2022, but haven't tried toggling off to see if it's exactly what you're looking for.

Mine doesn’t have “Automatic Door Lock” in that menu. But thanks for the idea.

MY '19 G550 has this function. What year is yours?

Now I’m really confused! How could they have it in an older and newer year, but not 2021? Am I losing my mind?

Really strange -- I have the Automatic Door Lock option in this menu, and it does keep the locks from activating at about 5 mph.

I was at the dealer today so I asked the SA to look into it. He confirmed a 2022 on the lot has the setting mine is missing, so we’ll see what he comes up with.

Under the menu "Home/System/Software Update", does "Automatic Online Update" have a check-mark next to it, and is "Software Update Available" grayed out?

It is 23% through installation of the latest update released on 1/20/24. It was 22% yesterday when I checked and the update seems very slow to install. Since the update was only released a couple weeks ago and y’all have had this feature all along I’m doubtful it will solve the lock issue, but hope it will!

I appreciate you checking back with more ideas.

I believe this software update is just a map update; I grabbed an SD card and updated manually so I could update all map data (over the air, I believe, only updates your home region; I grabbed all North American regions when I downloaded, which was about 32GB).

I noticed automatic door lock doesn't appear in the MY21 owner's manual from mbusa.com, FWIW. (It's also not in my MY22 manual and I have the feature, but I see it in the MY23 manual)

Yes, I noticed the owners manual difference as well. Strange. I haven’t come across another 2021 to check yet, only different years.

It’s really no big deal, I’m just curious at this point. I don’t love the extra unnecessary cycles on the lock solenoids, but its warrantied, so whatever.
