2019 G550 bullbar removal, how?

Hi new to the forums. I tried to search for this topic all over the internet and couldn't find the answer. I wanted to remove the bullbar from a 2019 G550 so I can powder coat it black. However, I couldn't find anywhere how to remove the bullbar. Can someone enlighten me how to do this? I can't seem to be able to find a way to access the bolts. Thank you for your help.

I did exactly this, try this link. If it doesn’t work email me and I can give you all the details. My email is xrayv8@gmail.com. It’s very easy.

thank for the link. I did see that thread prior to posting this thread. I just went to look again. There is a small black piece right near the front of the bullbar support on each side. Open the plastic piece there are two bolts. I didn't undo the bolts but I am sure they are for the bullbar.

BTW, nice color you have there. I love the white!

Yes, you are right. After the 2 bolts are removed, the bar pulls straight up and 2 additional bolts hold the vertical and horizontal components together. I just recently got the 22" AMG wheels to complete the look. Here it is with my new G63.

Beautiful color, again.

How did you remove the latch on the spare tire cover ring? It looks like the latch is bolted to the ring, and I have to drill them out?

I had a local body shop do the work of removing and re-installing the bull bar and spare cover. The latch was riveted on so they removed all of it then re-riveted back on just like the original. The bullbar and chrome ring have to be sandblasted to etch surface for paint to adhere properly. It was $1K for everything.

Thank you pateljb. I got every removed and had them powder coated. Cost is US$300 for the front bullbar and the back wheel cover ring.

Looks great! IMO You should powder coat the silver rear bumper elements too

How about Obsidian Black, which is used on the trim, right?

I've never seeing powder coating to be that exact, it's usually black (matte/satin/gloss)...
