MB suspending sales of 2022 AMG V8 models

My hope is that the next G is so desireable that current prices on low mileage used G63s come back to earth.
it is affecting labor and profits

Few years ago, MB wanted to kill the G, the GLS was supposed to be the replacement but the huge demand from USA, the Middle East, China, and Russia kept it alive and then, redesigned.
I think that no one really knows, at dealers level, at MBUSA, not sure even at MB leadership, when the G will come back. I hope it will.

I found a brand new G63 with all the options I want except for the tires + rims... it has the 21" rims which I don't like. I need/want the 22" rims.
Would it cost me a fortune to switch it out after I buy the car? Would it be worthwhile at all?

I was really wondering if it would be worth it! Any ideas on costs assuming I go with the Mercedes 22"?
The reason I ask is because they're asking the same price as a 2020 with 22" rims... just wondering if it's worth the hassle.

I would probably make the 21 inch wheels my winter set. I have 22 inch wheels and have to switch to winter tires in the winter.

If Ferrari can make a V6 hybrid go 0-60 in less than 2.9 then I wouldn't be concerned about performance in a V6 hybrid G if that's what they end up with.
The new G67, or whatever it will be called, will undoubtedly be quicker and more agile than the G63. That’s all most people need to hear. Any G-Class will be a big hit, everyone will eventually get used to the new model.

My guess is you can sell the 21's as take-offs easily for $5k or more.
For the same price I'd rather have a new G63 with 21's and swap the tires/rims out then get a used 2020 that has 22's already.
I also agree with what others have said, that most people will buy whatever the next G they launch, part of the status people seek is having the newest, greatest, most expensive, etc. It's silly but that's the reality.

and price difference isnt that much either. my draw was the power and engine and speed. i think also why it outsells the 550 is residual values. No sure its as simple as the AMG badge and status is why it sells…
and if they are making an electric version in 2024, will the gas version even come out for ‘23 or complete hiatus? or do we think gas version will be produced inline with electric with an eventual exit out of gas by the end of the decade? or else this would seem as a very hard/harsh transition and it could spook buyers!

Migration to hybrid and EV is not a trivial venture for manufacturers. Just retraining service techs at 400 U.S. dealerships is an enormous investment, and doesn't happen overnight. IMO, the G's metamorphosis will be more gradual than what some others forecast.
