2021 G63 Transmission leak
Im planning to buy a 2021 g63 that i found, upon inspection we found a transmission leak, very minor they said. Seals need replacing, the car drives like it was new, it has 41,000kms on it. the warranty is up to 150,000km. Any thing i should be concerned by? should i buy the car?

Transmission leak for sure or rear main seal leak? Will this car still be under factory warranty? If it's the rear main seal then the oil separators also need to be replaced.

I’m not sure, the inspectors said transmission, but it seemed to be on the back side of the transmission if that makes sense, a bad seal is what they said. and Yes the car is under warranty till mid 2026, or 150,000kms, whatever comes first.

Can someone else inspect the car - a third party? Before you sign the dotted line?
if it's under warranty and they can demonstrate that it's fixed and it's a benz dealer I wouldn't be worried about it. Any future issues are relatively theoretic and will be fixed under warranty

Thank you for the response, yeah the car was inspected by a very reliable 3rd party inspector that i chose, they pointed out the leak, the seller will send it to the dealer for the repairs once i place a down payment on the car. The car was in immaculent condition, the leak is the only thing driving me nuts haha

you should do money in escrow until it's fixed, or give them $500 to lock the deal that is non refundable to you to keep them honest and interested.
what amount of down payment and what if the problem is bigger than projected when they start the repair? Will you get your money back?

Clarify with them if it's the rear main seal or the rear of the transmission

thats a picture i found on youtube, but that was the exact location it was wet. from what i understand it could have been repaired a while back, but the oil residue is still there,
