Front Tires Rubbing After TE37 Install

Hi all, I just purchased new wheels to add to our '21 G63. I was told these wheels would fit without any issues, but they’re rubbing badly in the front. I’ve been advised to adjust the caster, but I’m having trouble finding any parts that allow me to do that on the "newer" G models.

Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution?

The current wheel specs are: 22x10 +15 with 285/45/22 tires.

Would switching to 285/40/22 resolve the issue, or would I still need to modify the caster and relocate the oil cooler?

I’m also running 30mm adapters that were sold with the wheels.

If the interference is a consequence of the tire width, moving to a 285/40R22 from 285/45R22 will have no effect. Both tires are 285mm (11.2") wide, and the half inch difference in height likely has little impact (unless the interference is on the inside corner edge of the tire). If you already have 30mm spacers installed, it sounds as if these 22" wheels have a radically different offset spec than OE. Who told you this setup would work?

Which tire are they? 285/45/22 should just fit, but Cooper Discoverer's are a little larger.

From my post a few years ago:

"I really liked the Cooper Discoverer Rugged Trek's which are a new tire but they are 32.3" in diameter compared to the usual 32.1". I was spooked by that since the OEM 21's are 31.1" and the OEM 22's are 31.3""

So 32.1" fits but 32.3" I think would rub. We're talking millimmiters of clearance.

Both the previous owner (who had them on a '16) and the guy that her purchased them from said they would fit with no issues...which clearly isn't the case.

Tires are Toyo proxes - you think swapping to a smaller/different tire with less sidewall would resolve the issue?

The OEM 22x10 wheels for the 463A are +36 offset. So if the TE37s are +15 to start and you add 30mm adapters you are sitting at -15mm. So do the wheels protrude past the vendors by 15mm?

Use the offset calculator at https://tiresize.com/wheel-offset-calculator/ to compare your OE setup with your aftermarket. Your specs -- OE ET=35 versus aftermarket ET=15 + 35 -- indicates your tires should be about 2" further out, so rubbing on the inside is a mystery.

Hmm okay--I know for a fact Nitto Ridge Grapplers just fit without rubbing, and I believe others have used Toyo Open Country AT3 and had the same experience. This is using standard setup on OEM rims without any spacers.

Tire Rack says the Proxes are 32.1" in diameter so they should work on paper.

It's not rubbing on the inside, it's actually rubbing on the front of the wheel well where the oil coolers are. I've attached a photo of where it's rubbing.

They diff stick out further but no where near others I've seen that fit the wheels by changing the caster:

If you have a shop that is willing to modify, you can take off the front end and adjust the auxiliary radiator 1" forward. That will avoid the rubbing and takes about 8 hours of labor to do.
