Question No adjustable lumbar support on new G550?

Hi all,

Do all 2025 G550's have lumbar support and I just can't find it? Or is it a particular seat option thats needed to get lumbar support?

Thanks

Pretty sure all seats have standard lumbar support, but nowadays you have to dive into the touchscreen to adjust the secondary seat adjustments. It's one of those 1 step forward 2 steps backwards things in modern cars. I recently drove the new GT 63 2-door and wanted to adjust the side bolsters. Reached down to the side of the seat where I have dedicated switches in my current AMG and came up empty handed. My first thought was I couldn't believe they would remove the adjustable side bolsters, then it occurred to me that it's probably buried in MBUX and lo and behold, I had to fiddle with the damn touchscreen to adjust the side bolsters while trying not to crash on the track. Dumb design is the only thing I can say about this. Sure, the side bolsters is not something I adjust every time I drive the car. I keep them deflated for normal driving, but as soon as I hit up a nice curvy road, I inflate them on the fly. Having to take my eyes off the road and fiddle with the touchscreen for this is unbelievably stupid. Same goes for lumbar support. One might want to easily adjust it on a long drive as the muscles start to ache. Again, now this requires taking one's eyes off the road to do it instead of simply reaching down to the side of the seat and do it by feel.

I feel like Mercedes-Benz wants people to just “Hey Mercedes” and ask for the lumbar to be adjusted… but I’m not sure what the command would be.

Voice commands can make a lot of sense for certain things such as starting route guidance to a location by name or perhaps even dictate an address, or perhaps even things like turning on the seat heater or seat massage. I'm not sure how I would describe to "Hey Mercedes" how to adjust the lumbar support to my liking. Do I start describing how many vertebras it should move up, or how exactly would that work? Hey Mercedes, adjust my lumbar support...oh yeah, right there, oh yeah.... Then comes the issue if you have passengers in the car. It's always a bit awkward if you start talking to your car in the presence of passengers in the car. Especially if you have to interrupt a conversation in order to adjust your seat. Then if they talk over you, "Hey Mercedes" may not understand the command.

I believe you have to have the multi contour seats to have adjustable lumbar. The G550 I'm looking at has "comfort package" but I can't find out anywhere what that includes.

As in the Seat Comfort Package? That would include the multicontour seats.

Hi,
No, this new G550 does not have the "seat comfort package", all the sticker says is "comfort package". Staggering to think a $178,000 vehicle wouldn't have adjustable lumbar in even the base seat offering. Going to have to pass on this one. I've rented Kia's at Avis that had adjustable lumbar...
