Can u put a S65 V12 Biturbo motor in G55 ?

Can u put a S65 V12 Biturbo motor in G55 ? I know that Brabus (6.3 v12 biturbo) does this for a $500,000

Wouldnt it be cheaper just to pay MB or a shop to install a s65 motor in a
G55? That would be the best suv ever!!!! G65 //AMG

Yes you can put the -65 series V12 AMG motor in a G55. It will then be a 'G65', or a G65 XXL if you add the third row seating.

AMG Manufaktur does it all the time in Germany; and they will do it to a car that is coming to North America.

Cost for just the engine transplant? Maybe $30K to $40K USD -- I don't know exactly because I always see a bunch of additional work done along with the motor change, and the ones that I know of personally were done with the old -63 series V12 and not with the current configuration in the -65 series.

I am planning on having a G65 XXL built this Summer at AMG Manufakturing. I have just been waiting for the new G55 to be released.

Help this ignorant, still too-American with another definition for the 'sportcoupe' -- I don't know what you are referring to exactly....

Sorry dude but your costings are works of fiction.

Suspension rework $7,000 Euro
LSD and drive shafts $10,000 Euro
65 Engine $70,000 Euro
Special coding ......
Compliance .........
Braking system ........
Special bodywork reinforcement.......

Given that the G doesnt have ABC and all 65 series cars do then I dont even think it is possible to drive it safely - which means a speed restriction.

All your data comes from published books on exotic cars and eBay auctions.

Asking ClayJ for advice on a Mercedes is like asking Freud what he thinks of his mother.

There's a difference between being a critic, or a doubter, or a questioner of the veracity of the information in someone's post, and posting complete crap which is not helpful at all to either the thread, or to the other members of the forums -- benzmodz, your last two posts are examples of the later....

Did you even read my post before you shat upon the thread...twice?

And why did you quote the exchange on the question of a V8 in a Sportcoupe, and then post the crap that you posted?

If you thought that the cost might be high for the modifification at AMG Manufaktur, why didn't you post just that?

Oh and BTW, as an example of a worthwhile post?

Yes, $70K USD for dropping in a new -65 series V12 does sound about right to me.

I got my prices from AMG as I was discussing some of the retrofits that they like to do or get asked to do for people. Since when does AMG buy used engines ?

The engine price is from the Mercedes price list PL60 and is in EURO.

.... some of us are not stuck in the boonies.

Hey You better don't call me American again!! Why is it ignorant anyway?

I was talking about the C class sportcoupe!!

And don't tell me now that it isn't a real sportcoupe I don't care about that!!

LOL - I was referring to myself, F_Porsche....

I thought of the "Sportcoupe" being the C-Class, but didn't know if there were many other cars referred to a s"sportcoupes" as well in Europe....

I don't think that they will drop a V8 into a C-Class Sportcoupe -- don't know, have never tried, but it just doesn't sound reasonable to me....

They put a S/C V6 in the C32 AMG, they have a V8 in the C55 - but I think that they designed that car to take it.

I really just don't know personally - I don't do the C-Class MBZ's. I owned a C32 AMG when they first came out, and I looked at a C55 Estate last year for Europe, but I don't currently own any C-Class cars and don't foresee adding one soon, either.

I would pursue it a little bit if I were you and interested.

I am sure that someone like Brabus - especially Brabus - or MKB would likely have shoehorned a V8 into a C-Class for a customer or two -- have you checked the Brabus and MKB websites to see if THEY offer the retrofit? If they offer the retrofit, then perhaps AMG Manufaktur could do it as well?

as you guys already know, they put a SLR engine into a SLK, so why not a S65 engine in a G-class? but like you said... big bucks i bet.
