I tried to find a kit made by dension or DICE for a 2006 G-Class but interestingly, 2006 is the only year not listed! both support models from 1999 to 2005 and DICE also support 2007 upwards. Nothing for 2006. Try contacting them directly and see why the 2006 G is not listed on their sites.
There are more companies that make ipod integration kits listed at the bottom of this page on apple's site. good luck

The 2006 G55 has an AUX input for the COMAND head unit, but Mercedes did not wire it. You have to get your dealer to remove the COMAND system, connect the appropriate cable to the AUX input, and then place it in the glove box or wherever you want to connect your iPod to it. A proper iPod kit only became available in later models.

The problem with the aux input is that it will not charge the IPOD/IPHONE.
It also may disable the CD changer.
I use the Macally unit as below.
Mounts in the cupholder, built in FM transmitter, plug it into the power port at the rear of the console.
Great access to your IPOD and it keeps it charged !

You can get iPod/iPhone chargers that also offer an AUX output, and the audio quality via AUX is far superior to any FM transmitter. The AUX input does not disable the CD changer on the G-Class.

Only thing I can go by is the addresses the Command software assigns to the inputs, at least until 2008 D2B fiber systems.
The aux input typically takes the 190 address of the cd changer...
But what do I know !!!
The 3 digit numbers shown are: -
1C8 COMAND
108 Digital BOSE AMP
190 CD Changer
0F0 Phone
0F1 CTEL2 (e.g. 2nd phone in S class)
1F8 Voice Recognition
1B0 Satellite Radio Module (USA)
0E0 Teleaid Control Module (USA)

I bought the AUX cable from fourbyfour, connected to appropriate socket behind command (painful process though not to scratch or mess up anything), got it through the ash tray and it works fine with CD changer, but yes it doesn't charge it.
can anyone confirm the below concerning ipod kit for a 2007 G55:
Your vehicle has comand NTG2.
The Mercedes NTG2 ipod kit will work with your car. You can see this kit here;

Kicking myself in the butt though for not being more careful while holding the command in place to do the wiring. The bottom of the command module scratched the leather on the shifter. Oh well.....
