I will also say that, I said this in another post too, the only post 2000 model Mercedes worth owning better say AMG on it or you better have paid over $90,000 for it. What I want to know is why no one seems to have mentioned, specifically Accord, an M5? Are you AMG owners scared? Just curious...
I payed 55 for mine.
1. I have allready destroyed a stock E46M3 and a S4
2. The M5 is 0-60 in 5.8
3. The ///AMG C32 is 0-60 in 4.9 349HP
4. The E46 M3 is 0-60 in 5.0
With a pully kit the C32 will destroy most anything, So check the specs before you say retarded stuff.
Also the new c's are very compairable with the BMW 3 series

I didn't mean for ugly comments to be directed at me for that post. I believe that AMG and BMW M series are actually so close it doesn't really matter which one you choose. But if you're going to call me a retard then check your specs correctly. BMW M5 2003 model does 0-60 in 5.3 seconds (factory tested) and has a 5.0 V8 putting out 394 HP. Which basically puts your arguement in the "useless" catagory because they are so close that a race between the C32 and the M5 would be 90% driver and 10% car.

Sorry about the comment, I was in a testy mood. Ok, So I screwed up on the specs, actually I thought it was 4.8 and I put down 5.8
What I was trying to say was you don't need to spend 90K on an AMG car to compair w/BMW..
Pic below is an E 46 that I stepped on. (from a dead stop, basically street racing) I have been to Bondurant and done the school and the E 46 was driven by a club racer buddy of mine. You are absolutly right about the 90% to 10% thing.
I think allot of people do not consider that at all.

If you really wanna know how I feel about beemers, then check this out...

OK... I would rather get a 2003 C200 Kompressor ( 4 cylinder ) and stick all the AMG stuff on it and badge it C32 AMG than own a brand new factory stock 2003 BMW M3!

Is that clear enough?

It's cool, vader13, I was only teasing about the AMG driver thing. Hence the at the end of the post. You went to school and that's resectable. I would love to do that some day, but it's so expensive. I hear that not only do most race schools teach you about how to really drive a car, but also that the skills you learn can be applicable in the real world. I'm not much of a racer anyway. My friend wrecked his 2001 GT Mustang into a 2001 Pathfinder at 70 mph racing his brother in a genetalia measuring contest and that taught me a lot about what you should and shouldn't do on the streets. I have a fully intact piece of his front sidemarker on my bulletin board in my room to remind me every time I think about racing my car around. Also, to clarify my expense comment, I'm only stating my OPINION about Mercedes made after the merger of Mercedes-Benz and Chrysler. I think it was a big mistake. Kinda like the Ford and Jaguar thing. Those are two names that have no business together.

Hey Bro. driving school opened my eyes allot and I really think all these forum racers should go. Its not all about HP. At Bonderant I trained in the Cobra SVT GT Mustangs. I though I was pretty fast in the end. The instuctor took out a celica with about half the HP I had and blew me away. Its about timing, braking..ect ect..
Also as far as the merger, the 2 companies are regretting it a little and the only car made in the states is the ML. My AMG has the sig of the macanic in germany who put the car together..

Guys,

There are two kinds of people in this world:
1) Those who talk about it
2) Those who do it

Those who talk, typically don't do. Those who do don't need to talk.

The "fake" badges, badged up base models, etc. are for the first type.

People of the second type don't really care about appearances - it's what you've got that counts.

The guys with the "badge-tuned" cars just make it more fun for the guys with the "real deal". After jumping several "badge-tuned" cars, people start getting ****y and sloppy. At that point, the real deal simply eats their lunch.

Driving schools are definitely the most cost-effective performance mod. Not only do they not adversely affect your warranty or trade-in value, but they may save your bacon on the street as well.

In order to release maximum potential from the car, first tighten up the nut behind the wheel . . .
