Is it a coupe? is it a Sedan?
Any one knows anything more about this car?
http://www.mbspy.com/c219.htm
What is the purpose? It looks nice but it is more like a strange E class then a E class coupe in a coupe sense and meaning of the word. I would really rather see a true E class coupe then this strange thing. What do you think?

The design follows the trend of MB to make sedans look like coupes. It looks like it might be a fabulous design. Maybe it is a 4 door version of the CLK class??
MB's first issue of the "E Experience" shows the design work toward the creation of the W211. One of the designs in that portion of the video was a line drawing of this car.
BTW, I understand that the rear doors will open from a handle on the left side ala the old Lincoln Continentals.

Excerpt from mbspy article:
Until the end of 2001 the door concept of the new CLE was unusually hardly disputed. Originally the product planners favourized rear-hinged rear doors, but then decided for a convetional solution because of these reasons:
- better protection at side impacts, higher structural strength and better long-term quality
- problematic one-arm hinges in the rear (security of function, opening angle)
- the two-wing door concept ((aka "Butterfly Doors"")) reminds more on cheap US-Pickups than on a coupe of the higher middle-class.
