SO we've got the first six months of Sirius for free. DO we only have access to some 15 (give or take) channels??

No...the entire programming should be available. You can call them anytime to add to your account timewise. They will notify you when your free six months is about to run out. Have you activated your account yet...the dealer should have done this at delivery to you.

They did the activation bit with the ESN and what not but I only have access to some 15-20 channels, nothing great either. How do I get in touch with them? Any info available?

Should have access to the enitre lineup. Of course, you will listen to maybe 10 regularly

Hint: If you like Sirius, you can pay a one time fee for unlimited lifetime access to all the channels (about $400) that will transfer to any subsequent vehicles you buy. It's a great deal if you like the service.

Did you find the screen where you can select from the different categories? This may be your problem. You may be only looking at programming from one category instead of selecting from a group of them.

DaCeptak0n,

If you can get the deal the Oinick lists above, jump on that in a heartbeat! We use XM in our Chevy and Audi and just re-upped for 2 years for $425. Satellite radio is great (and I promise you have access to more than 15 channels) and you'll love it.

Now, I just hope that the FTC doesn't block the planned merger between XM and Sirius. I'm not interested in having Sirius in my GL and XM in the Audi. Would love to just have one subscription, which is what the merger would bring us consumers.

Good luck finding the other 115 channels you have access to!

I called Sirius and they told I should have access to everything as well. I called from my office phone and they asked for the ESN, obviously that was impossible. I will call this weekend and get it all sorted out.

Anyone know of the turning the TVs into TV tuners as well? Where would I go for such an implementation?

By the way, thanks all for the help, thanks NJ for the number

I had the same problem. Sirius just has to reset the signal that is sent to your receiver and you are good to go.

I agree Jack...first couple days i was stymied b/c you go through the stations in order of "group" not channel, and if you are just hitting seek, you are staying in the same loop over and over. Using the joystick to move through genres (right/left) then using seek to find channels within the genre will give you total access.

You can go to many aftermarket places like Audio Express or whomever sells these things in your area, where a 19 year old will begin yanking out expensive and sensitive wiring from what's historically been an already delicate electrical system, only to install TV tuners that will most likely get fuzzy half pictures at best. This I say from experience of installing a tuner in my Excursion. I got about 1/3 of two channels. Waste of money, waste of time, trust me.
