AMG Pedal Kit

I finally located my shipment..it had been laying in the local post office since 10/1! No notes or second notices of any kind it was there.

Now the problem...the kit does not apparently fit the 550. The gas pedal is completely different. It has a large piece of plastic on the back with mounting holes. The emergency brake pedal also appears to be wrong. It is only about a half inch thick and the current one is about 1 1/2" thick with some kind of metal rivet on the side. The brake pedal appears to almost fit and it may just need some more pulling to get it over the metal pedal.

It looks like I got screwed by eBay.

Any constructive comments are welcome. The stock # for the gas pedal/ emergency brake is A 170 300 00 04. The brake pedal # is A 170 290 01 82.

Bummer NJ, ..... the only constructive comment I can make is that it's not Ebay that did the "screwing" it was the seller and there seems to be more and more of that on Ebay. I used to be a big seller and buyer on Ebay but have back off considerably. If the kit fits the 450 you might find a buyer on the forum.

From what NJ is describing, it doesn't look like those pedals will fit a 450 either

I am not sure what to tell you, NJ. I will take a look at one of 550s pedal when in Vegas and see if my pedal kit would fit. Bummer...............

I have bought the same kit from that guy in Germany, and it fit on my 450.
The gas pedal slips over the existing gas pedal. The emergency brake and brake pedal covers need to be removed first. The brake pedal comes off very easily. I broke the plastic pin on the original emergency pedal taking it off, but the new one has a rubbery one that fit in the hole just fine.

I too got the pedal kit from Germany (giorgios) from ebay. Fits my GL450 perfectly. I wouldn't think that MB changed the pedals from the 450 to the 550. (I could be wrong though)

The amg gas pedal slides over the plastic gas pedal. You don't remove anything. The emergency brake pin needs to be pulled out and the cover comes off and amg pedal goes on. (It has its own rubber pin) The brake pedal gave me the most trouble but it went on with some cursing and patience. Same deal take the rubber pedal off and slide the amg pedal on.

Maybe I didn't order the correct set??? I have my camera gear packed for my trip starting tomorrow so I can't show them. The gas pedal has a bracket on the back and a large plastic tongue. The bracket on the back has a hole in it like a shaft should go through it. The emergency brake has no rubber pin...is has a rubber lip and is about a half inch thick. I sent him an email and asked if I ordered the wrong kit or has the setup for the 550 changed.

Was there a special page for the GL or was it included in the one listing all the cars without the GL on the list?

I just rechecked the ebay site and I ordered the wrong set...damn! I will see if I can return this set and get the correct one. If not just offer this set to someone on the other forums at a price they can't pass by...:-)

I'm off to the east coast...see you guys on line along the way.

Oh, MAN! If you were there when we come up I could've helped as I've done mine now.

You and your sister will be in my and my family's prayers. Have as good a trip as can be expected, under the circumstances!
