nevada jack and others w/ the chrome door inserts
i'm thinking about getting a set for my car as the inside of the handles are all scratched up.
do the chrome inserts help with the amount of surface scratches??

i have found it to be a huge problem if the woman/women in your life have acrylic nails...my mother has hers done weekly and has been responsible for more than one scratch-my wife, however, has natural, and we have had no scratch issues...

I got the chrome inserts installed at the factory. I have had my GL450 for about a year now and I am pretty sure there are no stratches at all on any of them (or at least that I can notice).

No scratches at all on the chrome. An excellent mod which saves the paint from scratching and adds some fine bling to the doors.

I had mine installed very soon after looking at a sedan at the dealership that was about a year old and had a ton of scratches inside the door handles. The chrome's really, really nice against the black color.
(I've also had no scratchs on the hood fins since I put the chrome on them, too, but that's a different matter altogether!)

I see that the chrome door inserts are about $89, but thats uninstalled? How much will the dealer set you back to install or can this be done at home with relative ease?
As for the chrome trim around the doors and windows that you guys added, I think it look great! Any one kit better than another or is OEM from the dealer the way to go?

Those chrome trims outside window, someone said you need to pull off the black ones. What happens to that sealing rubber which sits against the glass ?
