Question on DVD player in '09 GL (not the rear seat entertainment)

Question on DVD player in '09 GL (not the rear seat entertainment)
I noticed you can use DVD with the COMAND system on the dash. Will the stock option allow you to watch DVD while the vehicle is driving on the dashboard? or does the vehicle have to be in Park?

It has to be in park. But there may be an override box available from midcity engineering. I believe they are a sponsor here.

i know people here rave about the VIm unit from midcity engineering. Just wondering if anyone has experience with the ebay units coming from germany that appears to be for a lot less.

Hope this doesn't turn into another anti-VIM discussion.
