The Mercedes has the similar ones with ~$80-$100 less but too bad they're all silver and I wanted black. W/ lack of detailed info, I also wasn't sure if MB model were both right/left open. Quality wise, they appear to be the same since MB ones are manufactured by Thule. I thought good thing w/ "Thule" instead "Mercedes" printed on the box is that I don't have to sell the box when it's time to sell the MB

Very pleased with our Thule 1800 XT Atlantis , we like the sleek low profile look and fits GL nicely .
Got ours from REI when they had a 20% off sale . Nice thing about buying almost anything from REI - if it breaks years from now, they exchange it or make good on it . Amazing company- that's why their customers are so loyal.

I have been a co-op member for decades - love the rebates . Anyone can buy from them but only the co-op participants get the rebates and other benefits.
Reason I purposefully posted it as a '"company " was not to turn away those who might misunderstand " co-op " in terms of ability to buy from them .
