From W211 E63 to X164 GL450...

Picked up my 2010 Steel Grey/Ash GL450 and so far, it's a behemoth compared to the E63 I gave up but it's more comfortable and practical.

Love the Steel Grey, it's a very rich multi-dimensional colour and with the Appearance Package, I think it's a pretty smart looking combination.

The car also has P2 and the Lighting Pkgs, along with the 3-zone climate control, rear heated seats, heated steering wheel, and Parktronic.

So far the driving impression is limited to about 45 miles of highway and local roads but find the car has adequate power, though the GL550 would've been awesome the lease program wasn't compared to the GL450. Don't mind the MBTex but miss the leather.

The new generation COMAND with better integration of the bluetooth and iPod functionalities is awesome, along with the voice activated functions and the updated navigation.

This is my first Alabama built MB so I hope it won't disappoint!

More as mileage piles on...here are a few pics, including one of the reasons I gave up the E63 for the GL450...

Great looking choice and that is a beautiful reason to give up the E63...enjoy and be safe.

2010 GL350 Steel Gray
Good Luck!

Just ordered a GL350 today. Same Steel Gray color with black leather. Got almost every option except heated steering wheel. Got active seats. Cant wait for the massage! Love the diesel too! Did you get MB matts for yours or are you going with the MacNeil weather tech ones. Anyone know which is better?
For the E63 guy: Just drove a new one today. My advice.. Don't! It will turn out to be an expensive day if you do! The salesman had already bagged me for about 75K today. But nooooooooo! He had to let me drive that sucker. As the terminator said: "I will be back"

My dealer included a set of the MB rubber mats, so I didn't opt to get a set myself.

I did opt for the storage box/tray for times when the 3rd row seats are up, and plan to get the Weathertech rear cargo liner for the 2 row seating configuration. I e-mailed MacNeil as they only show 2009 GL liners and they said they will confirm 2010 fit shortly.

I did give up an E63 so am still mourning the loss of the power, but admittedly the GL450 is more comfortable and practical - I don't need to bend down to strap my 3 1/2 year old in her car seat or put my infant son into his seat tray anymore...

2010 GL450
Smile New GL450

I just traded in my 2008 Cadillac Escalade for a 2010 GL450. We live about two hours from the MB dealer so they agreed to bring to to us and make the trade in my driveway. It came into the dealers possession today and I should take delivery of it on Wednesday at 11am. Mine will be black on black, with P1 and P2, parktronic, rear seat entertainment, and the towing package. I feel like a kid at christmas time waiting for santa to arrive. hehehehe. I will try to post some photos of it on thursday or so.
