Will 285/55/18 or even 285/60/18 fit instead of 265/60/18

Hello everyone! New member here. I apologize for another tire thread

I need to change tires before white stuff starts falling... I was thinking with getting slightly wider tires, as stocks 265/60/18 looks mighty thin (in my mind lol)

Anybody successfully mounted 285/55 or even 285/60 on stock wheels with no rubbing/other issues?

Looking at these Nitto tires....

Yes, 285-60-18 fit fine with no problems. There sure is a better choice of brands & styles than the 265's.

You understand, of course, that fitting wider tires REDUCES snow traction.

Good point! It will be a big improvement over bald tires and I hope I won't sacrifice too much of traction to get out of minivan-ish look

Peeps in your 'hood must have some bad minivans, because 265 60 18 is a pretty big tire!

Funny!

Kind of depends on the tire. The original Continentals look wimpy but the new tires on my GL in the same 265/60/18 size are more squared off and the tread width is a bit wider so they look much better - for 18's anyway.

They are all silver Honda Odysseys, all of them... 265 60 18 is still mighty big and heavy, that's for sure

I replaced the original Continental 265/60/18 on my 2007 GL450 with Michelin Latitude Tour HP 275/60/18 tires. No clearance problems even when using tire chains on the rear tires last winter in the back country. Load rating is 111H vs. 110H for the 265/60/18. Max load per tire is 2403lbs. vs 2337lbs. for the 265/60/18. Tire weight is 39lbs. for the 275/60/18 and 37lbs. for the 265/60/18.
