Mostly worry free. Left me stranded once, and my wife stranded once. Both were fuel pump failures. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another GL.

Perfect - you are helping me with the decision not to buy an extended warranty! Mine is at 47K...so far so good!

100K - Lot of miles in 3 years!

I might hit 100,000 in 3 years. I have had my GL for about a year (2010 model) and I just hit 30,000 miles. I might hit 60 by the end of this year... eek!

You guys make me think my '07 with 82,000 miles is just a baby.

I didn't buy the extended warrenty. I figured it would only cover me for about a year and a half. I did have a couple thousand in repairs during that time, but don't think it was as much as the warrenty cost. I wouldn't get it unless you think you might have an issue with your car.

I don't mind self insuring, I would rather keep the money in my pocket. I think they know how to price these warrenties, and the warrenty provider usually makes out better.

Good point. But I think it also has to do with the type of driving you do. Lots of short trips, stop-and-go traffic, severe cold, among other things can put more stress on the car, making it more prone to problems.

If my GL450 left me stranded twice in the first 100,000 miles, I would sell it and buy something dependable.

I think I have the baby here with the 07 GL320 with 24,000 miles and an extended warranty through 2/14 and 100,000. I've only had the blown turbo hoses, but obviously not a lot of anything but highway miles for trips. She's my baby.
