Finally took the plunge and got the Black GL450 with P1/lighting/Parktronic/BSA/Trailer/RB for 61950 (MSRP - 70710). This has exactly the options we want (would be nice to have KG). Was deciding between a diamond white one with KG and the 20" appearance package but it's 4k more and it was sold when I got to the dealership.

I am new to GL but this thing has a unbelievable high residual - $42k! This is like less than 20k for 3 years/30k miles. This is our first lease and I'm surprised that you can prepay 3 years maintenance for only $540 ($15/month). Wish I have that option if I buy.

Overall, we are happy with the car. I took the whole family (7 with 4 car seats) out for a ride last night and wife was impressed with the way GL handles. I was surprised it can fit everyone fine. We have 2 convertibles in the 3rd row and there were not much leg rooms but it was fine for a short ride. The Xenon is really nice at night and much brighter than what I had on my c-class. And my wife really likes the blind-spot assist. She likes the GL better than her minivan but kids are more comfortable in the minivan.

Details..

We are going to work our numbers tomorrow. I see you are in DC. Can you share some details please of the deal you got? 36 months/12k miles? Did you get the MB rate of .00193 and residual of 59%?

Just curious, if you don't mind sharing, what payment you got? Thanks a lot, it will help me understand what is a good deal for the month.

This is what the dealer told me. I don't know how they calculate the % of the residual but looks like it's .6 of MSRP or .685 of actual selling price. Payment is 750 + 15 maintenance/month. This is 36/30k.

Residual: $42,426*
MF: .00193 ( for all presumably
Taxes and Tags: $1877.85 (includes 62.75 for tags)

*
Down payment Breakdown:
*
1st payment: $750.45
cap reduction: $1,299.00
Taxes and Tags: $1877.85
Fee: $385
Total: $4,312.30

Congrats.. nice deal ..please post pics.

I just bought 11 GL350 with P2, Lighting package, Parktronic, running boards, wood steering wheel...Black/Black. I was thinking about leasing first, but after my research I decided to buy. Those trucks loosing no more than 7% per year, which is unbelievable. The car should be delivered from port sometime next week... can't wait. They included 3 years maintenance for free. I think they have some kind of promotion right now for that thing. It's nice to have headache free maintenance for 3 years

Thank you very much for the details. Do you have USAA discount? Or do you know if you got other discounts? Example: conquest cash or some fleet discount? Your price is fantastic and wonder if you have some special scenario to get to the price.

Thanks. We have USAA by the way, which is an extra $3k off, so I'm wondering if there is more room this month.

Congrats! Very nice cfg. We don't know if it is going to work for us so we decided to lease. But yea, they hold their values surprisingly good. I was looking at an '09 GL350 w 42k miles (P2/DVD) and they are still asking for 52k! And 3 yr free maintenance is very nice.

No I don't have USAA, they said it's a special employee discount thing.

This is the email that I got Fri. There were many people at the dealership yesterday and they sold many GLs.

The first 8 buyers will receive this exclusive control number and will be able to lease or buy a brand new Mercedes-Benz at employee rates! This exclusive offer is available on a first come, first served basis to the first 8 buyers and expires on March 31st!

If you’re currently in a Mercedes-Benz lease, we may be able to make up to 5 of your remaining payments. This program works in conjunction with leasing or financing through Mercedes-Benz Financial.

Check out these amazing employee lease offerings.

They are getting the car back in 3 years and they want to make sure it's been maintained so they can resell it as a CPO. Really smart.
