any GL out there on 24s
most common tire size for this fitment os 305/35/24...
i want 315/30/24 gavin real issues finding this tire size....only Cooper
how would u rate cooper 1st question...
also since i don't ant Cooper the only other option is 315/35/24 is anybody running this size out here on a GL.....
if so pls post pic i wanna see sidewall or question s like does it rub does it look too chunky...
any input would help....
also good luck with your airmatic and steering rack.
heavy wheels (and those 24s will be heavy) tend to blow airmatic shocks and put extra strain on the steering rack (and both the shocks and the rack are not exactly bulletproof on the gl trucks to begin with).
i hope those wheels look reaaaaaaaaly good as you will pay for the look dearly down the road.
just a data point.

not to mention that the lower height of the tire will put additional strain on the suspension components as there is much less "give" and the suspension (especially front) is designed to work in conjunction with certain height tire wall.
just my 2 cents
guess you have never had truck with 24" forged aftermarket wheels - besides looking kind of ghetto (imo), if you think that 24" forged-anything-that-can-sustain-the-weight-of-the-gl will weight less than stock 20" wheels (even with run flats)... you are mistaken.

"guess you have never had truck with 24" forged aftermarket wheels"-Have you?
I agree that 24" are a bit big for my taste (I have 22" wheels on my GL) but taste has been changing every year.
You are simply wrong about weight.

To give an idea, I have forged single piece 20" Centerlines on my work truck that weigh 26 lbs each. By comparison, the 22" version weighs 35 lbs so the additional couple inches in diameter (when already at that size wheel) adds a fair amount of weight.
Cooper, like all tire manufacturers, makes some excellent tires and some crappy tires. What model specifically are you looking at?
i jus need help with 315/30/24 is possible....wanna know if 315/35/24 is too chunky or will it be no prob.....i have plus size wheels on all my cars...2010 Honda odyssey on 20x10 all around...2005 Honda pilot on 22x9 all around 2001 Honda Accord on 20x7.5 all around CLS 500 with 20x9.5 fr 20x11.5 rear aggressive offset....and now jus for ur eyes 2010 GL 550 on 24x11.5 aggressive offset all around......if you r in to mods you will understand what I'm saying.......if you like gas, brake and other issues this topic is not 4 U...
jus my 2 cents...

i can post the pic of the wheel but don't wanna ruin the surprise....
its actually my fault should have directed the tread to people with GL on rims...lol
but i do some different shhh you will love how this will turn out...didnt wanna go with the White/Black combo have a lot of black on my CLS plus too much chrome on gl 550 to hide...

Well you said Forgiato and you said concave so let me venture a guess... Concavo?

But I DO think that 24's would look pretty badass hahah

Do you think, though, that 24s and the smallish stock brakes of the GL to begin with will warrant the extra expense for a BBK upgrade? IMO ML63 brakes will look killer on your car!
i don't want to dump too much money in this project...jus wheels n TV in motion...
but u never know once you do one thing then the year after you feel like its missing something....than may be....i like BBK...hopefully later on in life right now jus wanna slap these on
and see the end result... I know MODs r addictive...so i am trying not to go crazy..
the wheels colour matched with chrome lips should look proper...i am getting them made to really really deep concave,,,
i have seen GL on 26s looked weird high n small brakes..... you r right about the brakes may be might look ok when i paint callipers....benz decals
