I love my GL550. It has everything that we enthusiast are trying to add on to our plan Jane 450s. I am completed satisfied with it. AMG wheels, spoilers, 360 camera, cooled/heated seats, massagers built in, turbo engine, etc...

I'm looking to do this for my wife on our spare 2009 GL450. Is this unit on eBay the same thing? I don't believe our unit has any upgraded sound system so hopefully I won't need the MOST connectors, is there an easy way to tell since our GL doesn't have any labels on the speaker grills?

It's been a while now that most of us have had this unit in our trucks, what is the consensus on the performance so far? Mine is, I've never been able to get my phone to work through the speakers, I can't hear my phone ring when an incoming call comes in. Now out of the blue, when using the navigation I can no longer hear the turn by turn voice navigation, whether it be through Google Maps, or Waze. The audio will lower to allow the voice nav but, I can't hear it. Volume is turned up, voice is turned on and still nothing. 🤷🏽♂️

You know, I've had mine in about 1.5 years now, and other then the trouble of figuring out the FM Radio reception thing in the very beginning, it's been awesome. No issues with it.....and as a matter of fact I am looking for something similar for my 2013 S6.

The XTRONS unit (model ICE/HU/IN99M164PL with the PX30 Quad-core A35 64-bit processor; 2 GB RAM;16 GB ROM) referred to in post No. 202 (Sid3ways) is supplied by XTRONS, but I think the AVIN units are also XTRONS products and all of these units use same operating manual.
The newer XTRONS PX30 model seems to be leaner - no DVD/CD player, smaller (2GB) RAM, smaller (16GB) memory and less powerful processor at 2/3 of the price of the AVIN PX5 version. Strangely enough, I like the simpler and leaner of the PX30 model as long as it'll operate as smoothly as the 'bigger' PX5 and PX6 models. For me a new head unit must have FM and AM, connect to your phone for hands-free calls, be able to connect to the factory MOST system (Harmon Kardon), play music through USB or SD card, have equal or better sound quality than the original head unit, updatable GPS navigation, factory reverse camera function, WiFi for updates and app downloads, Bluetooth for OBDII scanner and other uses.

I believe there is a way to adjust all the volumes in Factory Settings. I think the code is 126. I can't tell you how to set it, but there are + and - setting in there and with some experimentation you can level it all out.

Maybe this is the solution to both of my problems. I'll just turn all of the settings up to 20 and go from there.

, touched the ACC wire and the MIC wire, no bueno. Burnt smell later and now no sound at all. Ordered a new HU today. Once I install it my tinkering days are over. A very costly F up on my part. It's true when they say, boredom leads to dumb ****.

Dumb *** me ended up shorting out the radio today, no sound whatsoever. Tinkering behind the HU and did something very dumb, touched the ACC wire and the MIC wire, no bueno. Burnt smell later and now no sound at all. Ordered a new HU today. Once I install it my tinkering days are over. A very costly F up on my part. It's true when they say, boredom leads to dumb ****.

I was never able to figure out the navi volume, or the phone bluetooth issue. I ordered the new PX6 Android 10 HU. Shipping delayed for 20 days from today so, I'm going to reinstall the COMAND unit I receive the new on. Hopefully I won't have any issues with this new unit 🙏🏽🤞🏼

I don't know why I didn't order the backup sensors when I bought the car, but I'm thinking of installing now. I'm hoping the wiring shown on the schematic is actually there.
For those of you who have this option, does the warning come thru the head unit screen with some type of indication? And if so, does it work with the AVINUSA unit?

Are you referring to the Parktronic System (PTS) sensors that are located on the front and rear bumpers? On the 2008 model, the PTS warning does not come through the Head Unit.

There is a row of yellow and red LEDs on top of the dash - the closer you get to an obstacle in the front, the more of them light up. Then the same thing as you look back to reverse and nearing an obstacle - there's another row of LEDs right by the rear dome light that comes on. At the same time there is also a warning beep that sounds when a close obstacle is picked up in front of, or behind, the vehicle.
Only the reverse camera works through the Head Unit.

Received the new radio two weeks ago, the PX6 Android 10. Hooked everything up the same way as the previous model but, now I have no sound, no reverse camera, can't connect to the internet, front camera not working, radio stations won't lock in, running wire from SIRIUS to back of radio and still nothing. The only thing that I can think of is, the MOST adapter burnt out when the other radio burnt out. I had reinstalled the factory radio and everything works fine. I am giving up for the day because I'm starting to get pissed.

It's strange that your factory radio works fine but the PX6 doesn't. Assuming there's nothing wrong with this new PX6, the problem must be with the hookup wiring, including the MOST adapter. If the problem is the MOST adapter, could it be that your original replacement unit (PX5 Android 8.0 or 9.0?) isn't damaged after all?

Unit is up and running, internet is good, radio is good, sound is good, backup camera is working but, forward camera still isn't working. I re wired it and saw my mistake. Guess I'll have an extra MOST adapter. 🤷🏽♂️
