Preview: 2013 GL | Vossen CV3s
We had some time with the new 2013 GL and I personally have to say I was impressed with it and feel it is a solid step over the previous model. These are iPhone pics I shot but we hope to have the full photo-set to view soon. These are 22x10.5 Matte Graphite CV3s.
We took some side by side shots of the X164 and X166 together both with 22x10.5 CV3s for you all to see and compare.
Thanks!
Mike

Mike - can you also share the recommended tire sizes for the 22" setup? I presume the offset is right at the edge of the wheel arch? I have 550 that is a little wider and wanted to go with the most aggressive setup. Thanks

The recommended tire sizes for this SUV with 22s is 285/40/22 F&R to meet the overall rolling diameter of the factor 20s with 275/50/20s.

Thanks. I am actually running 295/40/21 stock so may be 295 35 22 or 305 35 22? I presume more tires selections with 285 width.

Why does this tire /wheel set up look so small on the GL? It looks like the space above the rear tires is huge and maybe the car needs to be lowered or have a bigger wheel/tire set up. Does anyone else feel this way?

I agree - perhaps they just got it off the lift and suspension has not settled? I would think with less gap, the wheels will look more balanced. GL is a big car but 22" shouldn't look this small. Perhaps it's the dark wheels as well.

This particular 2013 GL used 275/35/22 which is why the tire looks rather small. 285/40 will be ideal for this setup.

In the real world of driving my car in the city, I like my 19" wheels. Nice ride, look fine, don't get wrecked if I mistakenly touch a curb. And, this 22" setup needs bigger tires.
