Has anyone taken delivery of a GL with this interior trim color that can snap a pic? I am really curious what this really looks like in person as I just ordered mine with this trim color.
Does your have some greenish tints/swirls in it? Mine does
yes it does, but only visible when the sun hits it. in the shade or darkness it looks like piano black trim. the aren't so much green as they are like a dirty beige or dirty tan swirled into it.
Thanks so much for the pictures, I have been searching the web for good pictures of anthracite poplar wood trim. With your pictures and explanation
of the color variations, my expectations have been exceeded. This helps me calm down while waiting on my steel gray gl. Thanks again - well done.

I would think that has to look nice! Plus.... its "different", I don't recall seeing that combination to date!
How would that look with the Auburn brown interior? Do the dealers have samples that they can use to show combinations?
cincy, another member posted pics of an auburn AMG interior w/ the anthracite and it looks pretty bad with the auburn wrapped dash IMO might be ok with the standard black dash, but still seems a little mis-matched:
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but my eyes would agree with wamochi that anthracite is best when used in conjunction with black, gray, or white, but not auburn brown leather.
I just took delivery of a 2013 ML550 in Steel Grey with Auburn Brown interior (black dash) and Anthracite Poplar trim and I could not be happier with it.
I have the anthracite poplar wood with black leather and the optional wrapped lower dash and black headliner. Looks great. As stated it looks very dark in the shade or at night.
I am buying a CPO 2016 GL450 that is out of factory warranty where three of the four panels have one or two cracks running through them and while they are only visible when the sun hits them at the right angle, I may want to replace them in the future.
so i know this is sacrilege of me ... but this wood trim doesn't by chance exist for the X166 or for any MB GL or GLS for that matter does it? I would've gladly paid a premium for this trim if it ever exists/ed in an MB

Ask the dealer to either goodwill the entire cost or offer to pay half. They all crack. I think I paid my dealer around $200 to replace the front and both sides. For reference, I have a designo interior with piano black wood.

I already closed the deal before I saw your reply. I will see if they are willing to cut me a discount on replacing it.
My new GL has the designo Porcelain Nappa leather and my wife loves it. If I need to take the door apart with all that leather and stuff to get those panels swapped myself, that might be more grief than I am willing to take on since I don't want to screw it up! ;-)
