Way to enables manual navigation while driving?
We are having issues with voice entry.
The problem with buying this type of software from, essentially, a guy operating out of a battered pickup truck in a dark alley, is that bad software could really goof up everything. I suppose, though, that if bad software was causing problems you could always pay to have an MB dealer re-install OE software.
It is not a strict Federal regulation that prevents car manufactuers from allowing manual entry during VIM (vehicle in motion).
There is no "hack" that I am aware of.
X166 - voice control "accuracy" can be enhanced for primary driver by going thru the 2-part Individualization process under Voice Control section in the System menu.
Voice control shortcuts allow relatively easy access entering a new address (voice comand "enter town" for example) or short cut to access memory destinations.

I've only used my Garmin, which is so much simplier and user friendly, IMO.
I'd like to remove all of the gas stations being shown, unless I turn them on to find gas!
I really would like to be able to mute the directions voice, unless I want to hear it.
The Garmin touch screen seems much easier to input what you are looking for than this wheel mouse, dialing in each letter of the alphabet. I just about get to my destination by the time I can get all that data entered.
There must be an easier way.

I am inquiring about some sort of programmable (perhaps by dealer) option to allow for address input while driving. We also have a BMW and there are a ton of programmable features that the car has that owner can actually do themselves, for example, stopping the navigation warning message each time you start the car.
