Radar detector mounting...yes I searched.

I have been using blend mounts and the power cord that has a thin pin you can slide into a 12v source in the mirror or such.

I know blend mount doesn't make one for the GL, but does anyone know if one is made at all? Is it even possible to tap into 12v power in the mirror with how touchy the electrical system is?

Thank you. Hardwire must be the term I didn't use.

I couldn't find a "hot" switched on with the ignition so I just wired it into the big red and brown. Absolutely no problems with the detector draining the battery, it turns off by itself after a good 40 mins or so. I promise!
Good luck, my V1 has saved me at least 8 times on the highway.

I don't have a V1, but considered upgrading while doing this. I was curios if it still functioned correctly since the right side is somewhat obstructed. I run a Redline on my GTR and I am amazed at how far out it will alert me. I was either going to upgrade this to a Redline or V1. Also do you have and suction cup issues with it? I am spoiled with the blend mount, i hate those things popping off randomly.

My V1 suction cups have never failed me in any of my cars, I am not sure what you mean about the right side being obstructed, I have no problems at all. The V1 is mounted high and to the left of the mirror where the "window" of clear glass is located. GL's have an infrared coating on the windshield and if you check your owners manual it has a diagram where the coating is missing to enable EZ pass and devices like it to function properly. My EZ pass is mounted on the right of the mirror. I hope this helps.

Sorry I wasn't more clear. I was referring to the right side of the detector being blocked by the overhead console. Does that not affect the way the V1 can look sideways for radar? Not a big deal just a thought I had. Thanks again! Going to order a V1 and the invisicord. How long of one did you use?

I ended up not using the invisicord but i think you need at least 18" for maneuvering room.
As far as the sideways radar detection goes, the V! seems to operate just fine. Sideways location helps locate and identify false alerts, it just gives me a clue as to where the radar might be, they can't compute your speed from the side.
