Can't get Tires Balanced

I replaced the stock Pirelli's at 22,000 miles. I purchased the same the Pirelli's but a weird problem has come up. Since I purchased them I can't get them balanced correctly. I think it's the rear tires as it it's something that you feel in the seat of your pants starting at 55mph. I've taken it back to the shop now 3 times, and each time they say that they weren't balanced and have fixed the problem. But the problem keeps coming back. What could the problem be? Could there be a problem with one of the tires being out of round or a problem with a belt inside the tire? What should I do? The tires have 3,000 miles on them now.

Check if your tire shop uses Hunter Road Force 9700 balancing machine. If not - use this link to find a shop, which has it and go there :

Had exact same problem, despite road force balancing twice which involves dismounting the tires enough to get it rotated on the rim enough to try balancing again. Eventually gave up on them, Tire Rack got me a refund on them and Michelins solved the problem.

common problem with Pirelli Scorpion Verde on the GL450. My dealer tried to balance 3 sets before giving up and installing Bridgestone Dueler tires instead, which solved the problem.

I had exactly the same problem - vibration/shake coming on after 55-60 MPH

I had the Pirelli Scorpion Verde on my GL350. The worst tires I had purchased. The car felt unsafe while driving in the rain and had vibration/shaking coming on after 60MPH as well. I had to change them out at 22K. I now have the Michelin and the car is smooth and rock solid in rain again.
