Diesel class action how will it affect us?

Hi guys it seams that Mercedes agreed to pay up for the diesel scandal
how will this affect us blue tech owners ?
anything for Canadian owners?
how much will they pay per car?

@ertech There are multiple threads on this. Check the Diesel subforum and the GLK subforum, these seem most active.

EPA: https://www.epa.gov/enforcement/daim...#vehiclerepair

Daimler: https://www.daimler.com/innovation/drive-systems/diesel/lodging-usa-settlement-diesel.html

X166 (2012-2016) will receive:
  • Software Update
  • New copper catalyst, DOC, DPF
  • New NOx sensor
  • New PM sensor
- and -

"Current owners and lessees who have an Approved Emission Modification installed at an authorized repair facility and meet certain other requirements will be eligible to claim a payment of up to USD 3,290."

"Former owners and lessees of the vehicles who meet certain requirements are eligible to claim a share of USD 822.50, which in case of a claim will be deducted from the amount available to the current owners and lessees of those vehicles. If more than one former owner or lessee makes a claim on the same vehicle, the amount will be equally divided among the former owners and lessees."

"Expected to be available on or around December 2020, after approval"

If you're the original owner, $3,290, some emissions tweaks, and a 4 year bonus emissions warranty.

Just kidding. No money yet, we have to wait until the class action settlement administrator send us notice and opens the claims process.
