Resonator delete
What would be the best way to delete the resonator on a Biturbo? X pipe H pipe or any other options you guys may know... I’m new to this turbo thing 🤷🏽*♂️ Sold my 2012 c63 for a GL63. I miss the pops and crackles.

The stock resonator is an H pipe setup. I removed mine and put in H pipe style.
this alone won’t really give much in terms of pops. I have catless down pipes, the above H pipe, tuned and elec exhaust cutouts. The pops and such hear with slight open of cutouts but more so with mostly or all open. Then more so when using the paddles to keep in RPMs

Bring this up.
How much louder it can be after resonator delete than stock? Want a bit more noise on my 2019, but defenitely not too loud.
What do you guys replace the resonator with? didn't find any direct replacement pipe.

I would say it is a lot louder. But, it it is a low growl loud and fits the GL.
Any muffler shop will know what to do if you ask them for a resonator delete. They'll cut it out and weld in appropriate ly sized connecting pipes.

I use a supersprint mid-pipe. You have to weld it to your OEM muffler, but it's a direct fit to the downpipes. The OEM exhaust has no separate mid-pipe and it's one huge piece. So you need to cut right before the muffler and use a reducer 3" to I think 2.5 or 2.75".
It's cheaper to use a straight pipe as suggested above, but I have a Brabus rear section so no cutting was needed. Rado downpipes, supersprint mid-pipe+reducers into brabus rear section. No cutting done.

Thanks guys! I was thinking straight pipe only, the shop I talked to said X pipe will be louder than straight. But I am still wondering how loud it will get. The 63 is my daily kids hauler so gotta be "resonable" loud =)

2) X pipe = second loudest.
3) H pipe = least loud.
X and H pipe the frequencies of the exhaust can collide into each other and help balance it out.
If you don't mind a loud start-up, go with straight pipe. It's really only loud when you get on it. Mine is a kid-hauler and no issues. The only issue I have is turning on the car from a cold-start, it is really loud.

Great to know! how much louder would you rate it compare to stock?
