So you guys really believe that the EPA is holding up the sale of a car that has the same engine as cars that are already on sale? Come on guys, I know you can do better than this. If that where the case a lot of imported cars would be held up in ports all over the country. The GM of 2 dealers here have said the same thing, they're stocking them for a big push. Even if it were the EPA it would only be a couple weeks at best, not month. The VW scandal had to do with diesel, it is still up in the air if they cheated with gas engines yet.

I think the EPA reference is total bunk. They are either:
  1. Trying to build enventories
  2. Trying to build sales hype
  3. Or trying to continue getting GLK's off their lots

I don't for a moment believe the EPA is holding the GLC off our roads for emissions testing.

Well if it is the case that they are purposefully waiting, I find it slightly annoying seeing as how I ordered mine back in May and chose the glc over the X5 (not realizing it would be longer than a 6 month wait). #hindsight

What does May have to do with anything? The GLC wasn't going sale until November anyway, from the start. You would have had to wait months anyway. It was never going on sale before November.

Germancar is right. The GLC was never scheduled to go on sale before November. It's the continuing delay past November that is annoying.

My dealer says EPA also but they might have found manufacturing issue that is having to be fixed at the port. I once had a car held for that. But they never would tell me directly. I called the port- Brunswick, GA and spoke to a person who told me the truth. That was a BMW.
Just my guess as to what may be happening! Some day we may know or maybe not!

Highly unlikely to be anything manufacturing related. There are plenty of GLCs roaming around the street of Zurich already. I picked up my 220d about 3 weeks ago. It will be worth the wait, trust me

A gaggle of MB's
Fed's have made a "administrative running change" their testing standards - in reaction to not catching the VW debacle for years - GLC as a new/new model got caught directly in the crosshairs - and the reason for all the lockdown on direct info - MB does not want to be dragged into the VW/consumer-crosshairs - the original Fed bar was moved - MB is not VW

Heard from my dealer this morning. They're saying Mid-December now. This just keeps getting pushed back further if this is true.

At least we'll get see one in the flesh this weekend. The Tampa International Auto Show is this weekend and it's walking distance from our home. They will have a GLC at the show and our dealer has given us two tickets to get in. I'll try to take some pics and post them (cell phone though) after the show.

For all of us waiting for a GLC, we just kind of need to put them out of our minds so we don't go crazy waiting for them. The reality is they'll show up when they show up.

Harumphhhhhhh

Ps: This is has to be costing MB a lot. Not just in holding them, but in lost sales. A buddy of mine who got tired of the lack of credible news on when they'd be released, cancelled his order this weekend, went over to the Audi Dealership and picked up a new Audi Q-something (I haven't seen which one he got yet).

I received my VIN # on 11/5. VPC Baltimore. Dealer told me at that time there was a "slight" delay due to EPA. He emailed me this morning...

"Your car will be here in Dec. I don't know which day yet. I will update you 7 days before the car gets here."

It isn't costing them anything that won't be made up once they hit the ground. People change their mind all day every day about a vehicles. Now what will hurt them is if they go into December without the GLC on sale. That will surely hurt because Dec is the biggest sales month of the year.

2019 MB C300 4Matic (me); 2021 BMW 530i xDrive (husband)
GLC300W4, ordered 10/10/15. Originally estimated delivery "late November", latest update from dealer is "early December maybe." To come in through Brunswick, GA VPC.
Diamond Silver Metallic
Silk Beige MB-Tex
Linden wood
Premium Package
18" 5-spoke wheels
Wheel locking bolts
Lighting package
Multi-media package
Panorama roof
Trailer hitch
Burmester surround sound system
Heated rear seats
Heated front seats
Driver Assistance package
MSRP USD $53,155 + $925 destination/delivery (of course)

Like everyone else, I am super excited to get the GLC 300 4Matic, to replace my 2013 C300 Sport 4Matic; I've decided I want/need the headroom and don't like having a black interior after having it with a 2010 C300 and then the current 2013 C300, the lease of which is up 1/31/16.

2013 SLK 250
The GLC delay is indeed EPA related and MB isn't the only manufacturer dealing with it. Let's hope the date doesn't slip any further!

GLK350, M3 ZCP
Our build (not included in this initial roll-out) has been delayed even longer now. I guess the Sport Package/AMG 19" wheels had additional supply issues. Earliest delivery of Feb. 2016 now. I'm already on the fence about waiting for the GLC450 or GLC-coupe too.

Ferrari California T
I don't know if it's the EPA or what but there is most definitely a hold up at the port right now. Parts as well aren't coming through. I have a Ferrari 488 GTB sitting there collecting dust for over a week. Sucks but an extra month seems about normal.

Tesla Model 3, BMW X5 (potentially being replaced by a GLC300)
I reserved mine 1 month ago and received a different message: the cars are at VPC with a few missing components as their supply chain was struggling. I don't have a huge faith on the message as was given by the salesman and he admitted that wasn't getting much information.

The car is for my wife replacing her ML and she's disappointed that won't have the car for Thanksgiving.

I just placed the reservation but didn't close the transaction - does anyone now if the loyalty discounts will apply for the GLC? I discover it's the only car in the whole line that doesn't qualify for fleet/corporate discounts.

Hey all.. looks like cars have been released! Just got this note from my Dealer:

"Your new car is on the way here! I'll updated you once I know the date. We both agree on the number when you were here $3065 off base MSRP plus all options at invoice. MB does not give us any rate or lease rate yet for Dec. Once your car here and MB release the lease rate for Dec. I can have my boss run the number for you base on the discount off $3065."

I am pretty sure his earlier post said his vehicle was at the Baltimore VPC.
